Welsh National League (Wrexham Area) Reserves & Colts Division
Connah’s Quay Nomads 1 Airbus UK Development 2

The longest-running 100% league record in North Wales senior football came to an end on Saturday when Nomads Reserves and Colts were beaten at home by the Airbus Development squad.

Nomads had won 11 on the bounce before the Wingmakers brought them to ground, Ellis Greenall and Dylan Cunnah with the all-important goals.

NWCFA Junior Cup second round
Rhuddlan Town 7 Abergele 7 (aet – Abergele won 11-10 on pens)

Abergele recovered from 4-1 and 6-4 down to finally win a penalties contest which involved a mammoth 21 kicks.

With these two level on points in the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League and having drawn 3-3 in a Premier Division clash this season, Saturday’s tie was expected to be close – but maybe not as tight as it ended up.

In the game itself, Matty Rees and Jay Whitehouse both nabbed hat-tricks for Rhuddlan, Connor Bucknall adding a single, while for Abergele, Jack Hoult (3), Kane Williams, Liam Roberts, Jack Lloyd and a Callum Roberts own goal provided their total.

Welsh Alliance League Division Two
Penmaenmawr Phoenix 0 Y Felinheli 3

Penmaenmawr have been near the top all season, so for a team to win 3-0 there was quite an achievement.

Although Y Felinheli are in form and stretched their unbeaten run in Division Two to 11 matches, this result at Cae Sling still ranks as excellent, Dion Griffiths and Iwan Owen (2) providing the crucial goals.

Welsh National League (Wrexham Area) Premier Division
Mold Alexandra 4 Brymbo 2

Great response from Mold following their FAW Trophy defeat at Radnor Valley, which was preceded by a 4-3 home loss to Saltney Town.

Title hopefuls Brymbo presented tricky opposition but the Alex took the honours, Conner Kendrick (2), Steve Watkin and Ben Howarth with the home goals.

Welsh National League (Wrexham Area) Premier Division
Rhos Aelwyd 0 Rhostyllen 7

Having lost 4-2 at home to Aelwyd in the FAW Trophy recently, it was a great response for Rhostyllen to visit the same opponents and emerge 7-0 winners.

Lewis Clamp scored three, Tom Douglas (2), James Jones and an own goal making up the thrashing dished out by the Premier leaders.

Cymru North
RHYL 0 FLINT TOWN UNITED 1

A tough assignment for Flint at Belle Vue on a wet and cold Friday night, but they emerged with flying colours despite having to play an hour with 10 men.

The Silkmen won 1-0 at Rhyl to cut Prestatyn Town’s lead at the summit to just two points with the same amount of games played.

Callum Bratley’s second-minute goal was enough to secure Niall McGuinness’s side the points.

Flint had midfielder Chris Li sent off on 32 minutes for a second booking, while Cai Owen was dismissed five minutes from time for the hosts after receiving two cautions.
