Welsh Alliance: ‘Bould’ move secures Mynydd Llandegai a dramatic point

Mynydd Llandegai goalkeeper Nic Bould produced his own very special ‘Jimmy Glass Moment’ as he headed home an injury-time equaliser from a corner in his team’s 3-3 draw with leaders Denbigh Town.

Glass is chiefly remembered for scoring the last-minute goal which kept Carlisle United in the Football League in 1999, while on loan from Swindon Town.

It is probably the most famous and important instance ever of a keeper coming up for a corner and scoring a crucial goal at the death.

However, what former Bangor City and Caernarfon Town glovesman Bould achieved on Saturday will not be forgotten in a hurry either.

Comeback kings of Welsh Alliance Division One Llandegai led 2-1 at half time courtesy of goals from Osian Jones and Ben Parker (penalty). Town’s reply came from a Jake Walker spot-kick.

In the second half, skipper Mark Roberts and Walker’s 85th minute strike looked to have sealed it for Denbigh, but then came that ‘Bould’ adventure forward which secured the hosts a point.

Dave Maddock (2), Joe Morgan (2) and Luke Fountain combined to earn Llandudno Albion a 5-2 verdict at Llandyrnog United, Craig Jones and Adam Gage for the hosts, while Greenfield pipped Penrhyndeudraeth 1-0 thanks to a Keiron Roberts goal.

Matty Griffiths (3), Kieron Evans and Matthew Marsh-Evans ensured Kinmel Bay pinched a 5-4 verdict at bottom side Aberffraw in Division Two, Gary Bolton (3) and Richard Roberts for the home side.

Marc Evans (3) and Gethin Davies (2) made sure Gwalchmai went home convincing 5-1 victors from Amlwch Town, Tom Rowlands the sole home marksman.

Rob Murfet (3) and Rob Owen guided Barmouth and Dyffryn to a 4-0 pasting of Pentraeth, while Joel Hewitt and Dan Williams netted for leaders Penmaenmawr Phoenix in a 2-0 derby triumph at Llandudno Junction.

Llandudno Amateurs and Gaerwen played out a 2-2 split on Friday night.
