Welsh Alliance: Nine in nine for Redmond as Bodedern beat leaders, Hotspur win 4-0, Holyhead Town top Division Two

It was a proud day for the Redmond family after dad Dean made it nine goals in nine matches with the winner for Bodedern

Dean Redmond’s ninth goal in as many matches secured Bodedern Athletic a 1-0 win over Welsh Alliance Division One leaders Denbigh Town.

Summer signing Redmond netted from the penalty spot in the 35th minute at Cae Ty Cristion to send Town tumbling to just their second defeat of the season.

Holyhead Hotspur moved to within three points of Denbigh with a game in hand after whipping Blaenau Amateurs 4-0 at the New Stadium.

After a goal-less first half, Chris Jones broke the deadlock a minute into the second period with his eighth goal of the campaign and Robert Jones doubled the lead with a 20-yard screamer to make it nine for the season.

Sam Ashworth made it three with a chip over the keeper and Dan McGinness added a late fourth.

Greenfield won 2-0 at Llanrwst United, the goals from Connor Hughes and Sam Jones, who also missed a penalty in the dying stages.

Penrhyndeudraeth hammered Llandyrnog United 7-2, midfielder Steve Jones netting twice to reach 100 goals in 266 games for the club.

Huw Quaeck and Iwan Thomas also bagged a brace apiece with Jack Jones (pen) adding another, Josh Jones with both for Dyrny.

Glan Conwy and St Asaph City shared a 2-2 draw, Conor Davies and Lee Ellis on the mark for the hosts, Josh Brown and James Witherspoon for the visitors.

Llanrug United versus Prestatyn Sports ended 1-1, Kevin Lloyd for the home team, Dean Hyland replying, and 0-0 was the final score between Llanberis and Mynydd Llandegai.

In Division Two, leaders Gaerwen crashed 3-0 at Penmaenmawr Phoenix, Alfie Caldecott and a Daniel Hughes double securing the spoils.

Holyhead Town climbed to the summit with a 6-0 home caning of Pwllheli, Asa Thomas, Dale Murphy, Sion Thomas, Marc Thomas and Gary Jo Owen (2) splitting the goals.

Aberffraw celebrated their first league win of the season at the expense of a Pentraeth side who are still seeking their first victory. Berffro won 3-1 with Nathan Moore (2, 1 pen) and Stephen Jenkins sharing the goals, Lewis Jones responding.

Billy Jones (2) and Ben Fisher provided Barmouth and Dyffryn’s goals in a 3-0 success at Amlwch Town, Mochdre Sports beat Kinmel Bay 3-1, Tom Roberts (2) and Bradley Wynne for the winners, Matthew Evans responding, and Gwalchmai produced a late show to pip Llannefydd 4-3 in a thriller at Maes Meurig.

Mark Jones, Gwion Thomas, Corey Sinnott and Marc Evans (pen) sealed the home points, Llion Jones, Ciran Morris and Elgan Roberts having helped put Llannefydd 2-0 and 3-1 up during the course of the game.

Gwalchmai were 3-1 down with seven minutes left, but then Thomas, Sinnott and Evans, who earned the spot-kick and converted it himself, all found the net to complete a remarkable turnaround.
