FAW AMATEUR TROPHY ROUND 3 REPORTS – SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31

Kerry 1 Talysarn Celts 2

Jack Usher’s 96th minute decider sent buoyant Tier 4 heroes Talysarn into the last 16 of the national FAW Amateur Trophy.
The North Wales Coast West Premier Division side pulled off one of their finest-ever wins on Saturday when they eliminated Tier 3 Ardal North East outfit Kerry from the competition.
After a goalless first half at MTJ Dolforgan Park, the home side, who hammered Corwen 11-1 in a league game seven days earlier, took the lead on 50 minutes through former Cymru Premier regular Neil Mitchell.
Talysarn had the chance to equalise on 75 minutes when they earned a penalty which Joshua Williams converted.
The tie was heading for penalties before six minutes into stoppage time, sub Jac Pearce Jones set up Usher for his 11th goal of the season.
Cue massive celebrations among the travelling Cefnogwyr Talysarn Celts.

CPD Cerrigydrudion 3 Dolgellau AA 4

Tier 3 favourites Dolgellau were made to fight all the way before edging past underdogs Cerrigydrudion in a seven-goal cracker.
Two Gerwyn Williams goals, which took him up to 21 for the season, gave Dol a 2-1 half time lead, Jac Edwards keeping Tier 4 Cerrig in touch.
Early in the second half, Elis Jones made it 2-2, Jamie Jones restored the away advantage on 54, but Tegid Williams made it level after 68.
Penalties were on the cards until in the 89th minute, Osian Morris struck the winner for the Ardal North East travellers.

Conwy Borough 2 Prestatyn Town 3

Leading 3-0 inside the first 15 minutes, Prestatyn had to withstand a brave fightback from the hosts before eventually going through to the final 16.
Aaron Simpson, Zebb Edwards and Alex Jones all netted to send the Ardal North West visitors storming ahead in a flying start, Ryan Kershaw providing two assists and Simpson another.
Conwy settled and gave themselves hope in first half added time when Gregory Hall made it 3-1.
On the hour, Hall was the supplier as James Trevis made it 3-2 – game on!
Boro pushed for the equaliser but Town held on, Adam Reid producing a magnificent late stop to deny the Tier 4 hosts an equaliser.

Kinmel Bay 4 CPD Pwllheli 1

Great win for Kinmel Bay against a Pwllheli side who were expected to provide a big test.
The hosts took a 22nd minute lead when Connor Morris played a brilliant ball down the right for Antonio Jacovelli, who beat a defender, crossed and Matty Beach was there to finish.
Five minutes later it was 2-0 when Beach’s free kick under the visitors’ wall caught out the keeper and found the net.
Pwllheli soon pulled one back, a Josua Jones’ free kick ending flying in off home defender McKenzie Slaven.
However, in the 34th minute Bay were 3-1 to the good when Nyal Hughes sent a great ball over the defence and Jacovelli chipped the keeper to celebrate his first goal of the campaign.
Just before half time, Nyal Hughes suffered a nasty facial injury in making a challenge for which he was seemingly harshly red-carded.

Four minutes into the second half, Matty Rees robbed a defender and made it 4-1 via a one-on-one situation with the away keeper.
Pwllheli did plenty of attacking after that in a bid to get back into the tie, but Bay defended well and deservedly took their place in the next round.

Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant 0 FC Queens Park 2

Goals from Michael Pritchard and Ethan Simpson booked the Park their place in the next stage at the expense of fellow Ardal North East opponents.
Pritchard made the breakthrough on 24 minutes with his ninth goal of the season, Matthew Worrall the supplier.
Nicky Williams was the provider on 62 minutes when Simpson doubled the lead.

Trearddur Bay 8 Llanidloes Town 1

Ardal North West leaders Trearddur Bay rattled up the biggest win of the round with a merciless display of finishing against Tier 4 opposition.
Ashley Ainsworth struck in the 11th and 18th minutes, Joe Todd made it 3-0 and Callum Parry’s 25th goal of the season gave the Beach Boys a comfortable interval cushion.
Sub Sebastian Samuel was the star of the second half with an 18-minute hat-trick, while Iolo Hughes also found the net, Alex Jones with an 85th minute consolation for The Daffs.
