WOMEN’S FOOTBALL ROUND-UP – SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4
ADRAN PREMIER PHASE ONE
Wrexham 2 The New Saints 3
Wrexham suffered their first league defeat of the season – and what a tough one it was to take.
Trailing 2-0 to fellow unbeaten side The New Saints, the champions fought back to level in added time, only to concede an even later goal which won the visitors the match.
Fiona Barry gave Saints an 18th minute lead, and Lexie Harrison made it two 12 minutes into the second half.
Captain Jodie Bartle replied for the title-holders in 66 from a Faye Knox assist, then in the 91st minute Natasha Thomas looked to have earned Jenny Sugarman’s side a point with the equaliser.
However, five minutes past the 90, Barry struck her second for Kieran Lee-Birch’s team to clinch a dramatic victory.
GENERO ADRAN TROPHY GROUP 1
CPD Bangor City 1876 2 Flint Town United 3
New signing Kelsey Davies netted twice for a much-changed Flint side who finish top of their group with a 100% record.
With qualification for the last 16 already assured, the Silkwomen gave valuable game time to a number of summer recruits.
It all started perfectly for the visitors, Poppy Smih handing them a second-minute lead.
Menna Evans levelled on seven minutes, but close to half time former Llandudno star Davies bagged her first goal in a Flint shirt.
Davies netted again for the away side on 61, and although Ellie Jones replied for the Citizens after 73, it was Flint who claimed the points.
CPDM Y Felinheli 2 Llanfair United 3
Heartbreak for Felinheli as they lost to a 91st minute decider from Llanfair’s Grace Thomas.
It was tough on the home side, who have now been beaten in all three group games, but would have been worthy of a point at Cae Seilo.
Rubie Davies edged Felinheli in front on 18 minutes with a stunning strike from wide out, but Sioned Roberts hit back for the Powys travellers after 21.
All-square at half time, but Llanfair regained the lead five minutes after the restart when Harriet Davies found the net.
Undeterred, Felinheli fought back well to equalise through Fflur Williams and it looked like ending 2-2 before Thomas delivered that late killer blow for the group runners-up.
GROUP 2
Wrexham Foresters 3 Berriew 0
It was a case of Déjà vu for the Foresters as they defeated Berriew 3-0 at home for the second time in seven days
Last week it was Ardal North league points at stake whereas today the result saw the Wrexham team through to the last 16 of the Trophy as Group 2 winners.
Anna Thomas took centre stage for the hosts with goals on 13 and 63 minutes before player-manager Kirstie Kural added a third after 82.
Foresters achieved their feat despite being reduced to 10 players in the 27th minute when Savannah Miller was red-carded.

Kinmel Bay 1 NFA 2
New signing Baileigh Aaron scored the second-half winner for NFA against her former club.
Natasha Standing gave Bay a 12th minute lead, but the in-form Amy Webster equalised with 37 on the clock.
The 17-year-old Aaron, who began this season with Towyn, delivered the deciding goal in the 70th minute via a Rachael Thomas assist.
Llangefni Town 15 Towyn 0
Clubs in the North Wales Coast League are now only permitted to enter details for eight goals maximum.
So today’s win for Llangefni is officially registered as an 8-0 win on the Cymru Football App – even though the Anglesey side scored 15.
This latest pathetic rule, apparently not mentioned at the start of the season and not transmitted to clubs, is the work of the North Wales Coast FA.
Grassroots North Wales will publish correct scores and all scorers wherever possible, depending on the cooperation of clubs.
Llangefni won 15-0. Goals: Ffion Owen 5, Milly Lowe 3, Jess Jones 2, Lowri Thomas 2, Beth Jones, Ffion Thomas, Amber Brown.
