North Wales Coast East: Rhuddlan edge nine-goal cracker, Henllan victorious, draws for Llysfaen and Sports

NORTH WALES COAST EAST REPORTS – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26

Division One

Rhuddlan Town 5 Towyn 4

Rhuddlan are up to third in Division One after edging a nine-goal thriller against Towyn at Pengwern College.
Town were aggressive from the start and took a 14th minute lead when Riley Booker crossed from the right and skipper Liam Bowers applied the finish.
It was 2-0 after 24 minutes when Cai Lloyd fed a neat ball into the path of Booker, who beat his man and scored with a deflected shot.
Towyn pulled one back five minutes past the 45 when Harry Woodfine found the net, but before the half time whistle Josh Edwards smashed home at the near post from a corner to put the hosts 3-1 up and there was time for away keeper Mackenzie Collier to punch into his own net.
Half-time: 4-1.
After the break Towyn came out flying and goals via Charlie Hill and a Cam Berry penalty reduced the arrears to 4-3 after 52 minutes.
Some great defending from the back-line enabled Rhuddlan to keep their noses in front, then on 56 minutes Liam Bowers kept up his remarkable two-goals-a-game record for the sixth match in succession to make it 17 for the season.
The rest of the game saw fine defending from both sides until Towyn cut the arrears to 5-4 in the 94th minute through sub Jake Maxwell.

CPD Henllan 2 CPD Blue Bridge 0

Elgan Hughes and Francis Roberts delivered the goals which earned Henllan maximum points at Top Park.

Llysfaen 2 CPD Bro Cernyw 2

Mike Chapman became the first player in North Wales senior football to pass 20 goals this season when he notched a double for Llysfaen in their draw with Bro Cernyw.
Faen stretched their undefeated run to eight games with their first draw of the season, Chapman on target after 16 nd 21 (penalty) minutes.
Rhidian Williams and an 84th minute equaliser from Carwyn McFadden earned a point for Bro.

Premier Division

Prestatyn Sports 3 Penrhyn Bay 3

Skipper Mike Jones scored a 92nd minute equaliser to salvage a point for Sports at home to Penrhyn Bay.
Ashley Castle and Dylan Taylor also netted for the hosts, who recovered from 3-1 down to seal a draw, Soloman Dickens, Ben Williams and Elliot Jarvis on the mark for the visitors.
