Here’s a recheck on who competes where in North Wales women’s football this season

With the start of the 2026-27 North Wales women’s football season set to get fully underway we list who is playing where in the months ahead

TIER 1

Can they make it back-to-back Adran Premier titles?
Wrexham certainly have the look of strong contenders again for the 2026-27 season.
It has been a highly encouraging summer for the Red Dragons, who made history by becoming the first North Wales team to play and win in the Champions League, with a 4-2 success against Armenians Pyunik earning Wales a first win in Europe for seven years.
Wrexham will alsoi have benefited with a number of warm-up matches against high-quality opposition.

TIER 2

After being crowned champions for the past two seasons, can Connah’s Quay Nomads make it a three-timer?
Lots of changes at the club over the summer, with double title-winning manager Jordan Parry leaving and being replaced by former Wrexham man Andy Griffiths.
A number of key players from the past two seasons have departed too, but others have come in and there are some promising youngsters waiting to be let off the leash.
Who can challenge Nomads?
Promoted teams elevating a level can often get a rude awakening, but Wrexham Foresters, Tier 3 invincibles last season and who have strengthened their experienced ranks with young talent this summer, have the quality and resources to make a big impact.
Flint Town United, fifth and third in their first two seasons at Tier 2, are capable of further improvement.
While the departure of gifted Rosie Hughes to the USA is a blow, the Silkwomen have brought in some good names in recent weeks, not least the goal machine of times past in North Wales, Laura Williams (Pennington).

TIER 3

North Wales Coast Women’s League

Following last season’s awesome title win Llangefni Town should be in Tier 2 this term, but the FAW’s pathetic play-off rule meant Dan Gregg side lost out in a winner-takes-all end of campaign promotion play-off final against mighty Foresters.
Cefni are determined to go again and have strengthened further this summer. Although the retirement of pivotal forward Ellie Coulson may take some getting used to, Gregg has brought back net-buster supreme Jess Jones and added further class up front.
Cefni are the team to beat again, but last season’s runners-up Kinmel Bay will be a force once more, while Pwllheli have added young talent to their experienced squad and could prove a big danger.
Good to see Amlwch Town back, as well as newcomers Holyhead Hotspur, Prestatyn Sports and Towyn. This will be a great league to follow again.

North East Wales Women’s League

This league returns after a season’s absence, this time just accommodating clubs from the region under its umbrella.
Airbus UK Broughton are expected to be strong, while Connah’s Quay Nomads U19s enter this league after the predecessor national league serving the north in this age group was abandoned by the FAW.

This league did exist last season and was dominated by CPD Cei Connah, but in 2026-27 a number of new teams will enter, making it a very exciting prospect.

North Wales Coast Women’s Recreational League

Colwyn Bay has dominated this league for the past two seasons, not losing a single game.
Would this season see them join the Tier 3 league and test themselves at a higher level? No! Here they are again aiming for a third title win on the bounce.
Can anyone stop them? The action begins on September 14.
