Cymru North: Porthmadog, Brickfield Rangers and Newtown make it two wins out of two

Denbigh Town 1-2 Bangor City 1876

Bangor held off a late rally from the hosts to celebrate the first win of their Cymru North comeback.
In a cagey opening 20 minutes, the first chance fell to Denbigh. Some excellent work between Nathan Brown and Elliott Orton led to the latter making his way into the box and forcing a stop by John Danby from an angle.
Seconds later Bangor broke and Jack Smith with just the keeper to beat was denied by a superb block from Oli Farebrother.
Just after the half hour mark Town had another chance when a spell of pressure led to Luke Johnston firing just wide from 25 yards. A free-kick on the edge of the box was then put into the side netting by Brown.
Another Brown free-kick was glanced just wide of the post, before Connor Evans was through and just had to hit the target, but dragged a shot wide.

The visitors came out of the second half with far more intent and their pressure early on paid off well. James Barry’s cross was flicked on by Evans into the path of Declan McManus, who poked home to edge the Citizens ahead.
Bangor almost made it two on the hour when Smith was through again only to be denied by Farebrother.
On 67 minutes the lead was doubled. McManus laid the ball to Evans, who from the edge of the box bent his shot into the bottom right corner.
Town needed to respond and within four minutes, halved the deficit. Brown’s free-kick from the left was met by the head of Harry Martin, who guided it past the keeper for a debut goal.
Now the momentum was with Denbigh. Toby Gallagher-Keenan fed Martin through but his effort from right of centre was held.
Martin was involved again on 79 minutes when chasing a lost cause, he picked it up at the byline before finding Brown whose strike deflected over for a corner.
A tough test, but three vital points for City

Caersws 1-0 Gresford Athletic

Craig Harris notched a 76th minute winner for Caersws at the Recreation Ground.

Guilsfield 3-2 Mold Alexandra

Mold lost a 2-0 lead and ended up beaten by two added time goals at Guilsfield.
Morgan Roberts put the visitors one-up on 39 minutes and Kieran Owens added a second after 47.
A Rhyss Nash own goal on 79 gave Guils hope and Adam Knott levelled on 90+3 before Callum Bromley bagged the decider a minute later.

Holyhead Hotspur 1-2 Brickfield Rangers

Brickfield made it back-to-back wins by taking the spoils at the New Stadium.
After a goalless first half, Sam Flory nudged the Wrexham side in front on 69 minutes from a Jay Richardson assist.
It looked all over when Richardson doubled the away lead with 93 on the clock, but Holyhead replied instantly through Craig Whelan only to run out of time in their quest for an equaliser.

Llanuwchllyn 2-1 Buckley Town

Joy for Llanuwchllyn as they recorded a first Cymru North win.
Gwydion Roberts struck first for the hosts on 47 minutes before the prolific Meilir Williams added a second after 57.
Paul Johnson pulled one back for the Bucks on 84, but that was the end of the scoring.

Newtown 5-0 Penrhyncoch

Jamie Hyne (2), Josh Astley, Gareth Evans and sub Emmanuel Osei shared the goals in an emphatic Newtown victory.

Porthmadog 1-0 Rhyl 1879

Port made it two wins out of two in the Cymru North thanks to Luke Baum’s 84th minute decider at Y Traeth, Ryan Williams with the assist.
