North Wales women’s all-time club XIs: No 11 – Llangefni Town

Llangefni Town Ladies All-Time XI

Katie Spruce

This wasn’t a foregone conclusion as Llangefni have had some great goalkeepers over the past five seasons, but in the end it has to be super Spruce.
Her most recent performance for the team was one of her very best – a phenomenal display in the play-off penalties defeat to Wrexham Foresters.
Over the past two seasons Spruce has been different class between the sticks for Cefni.

Marissa George

No better right-back in North Wales right now. Such a solid defender and is a real asset to the attack from her dead-ball deliveries.
Is on 98 appearances for the team.

Beth Jones

Outstanding last season when Llangefni were crowned invincible champions of the new North Wales Coast Women’s League.
Another who offers potency in advanced positions. Has made 60 appearances over the past three seasons for the club.

Mared Roberts

Solid and dependable central defender who has just got better and better each season she has played.
Currently on 90 appearances so should make the 100 in the season ahead. Great ambassador for the club.

Catrin Roberts

Most improved player on the North Wales scene. Brings so much to the side, not least her ability to play in so many positions – and she gets her share of goals.
Inspirational captain. Has made 95 appearances so another who is close to the magic ton.

Cerys Gadd

Amlwch’s temporary demise last season was Cefni’s gain as Cerys came in and did her usual superb job in the middle of the park, mixing fire with finesse.
Played in 19 matches for Cefni’s title-winners, scoring four goals.

Ffion Owen

Two magnificent seasons in a Cefni shirt. Recognise the name? Well it’s no surprise if you do as she’s already featured in three other Best Club XIs!
Has scored 20 times in 47 appearances for Llangefni and passed the 100 career goals mark in her time with the club

Lowri Thomas

After an amazing debut season in Llangefni colours she has forced her way into this XI.
Just ask Dan and Liam what influence she had on the side last season. A non-stop worker who mixes aggression with skill. Really got her appetite back for the game as Town stormed to league title glory. Scored a beauty v Foresters in the play-off final.

Eleanora Coulson

Arguably the most important player Llangefni have had in their side over the past five seasons.
As well as getting plenty of goals, she is also a tremendous, unselfish link-player who provided so many chances for Jess Jones and Jen Cox to pile on the net-busters.
Has sadly retired, but goes out on a high as a league champion and being the first Cefni player to 100 appearances. Stats: 108 appearances, 61 goals – magnificent!

Jess Jones

The most prolific scorer in Cefni’s short history and a sad loss to the team when she signed for Bangor City 1876.
It’s great to see her back from a career-threatening injury and her heroics for Llangefni will never be forgotten – 83 goals in 51 matches for Town.

Jen Cox

The original Cox in the Box. She was the player who notched the majority of the goals as Cefni caught fire and got better and better.
Pacy, aggressive, great finisher. 73 apppearances, 66 goals, so many heroic performances. The Bagging Bandana still remains in the picture – hopefully more apps and goals to come.
