Time for a new women’s football series where we choose North Wales clubs’ best all-time XI – in our opinion at least!
We kick off with AMLWCH TOWN, one of the longest running teams on the scene who return to league action in 2026-27 after taking a break to regroup last season.
Loyal and top quality goalkeeper who is renowned for her tremendous shot-stopping ability.
Has made 84 appearances for Amlwch since 2019-20, the season where Town won the North Wales Women’s League Division Two title.
Will also be an Amlwch player in the 2026-27 comeback season.
Quality right-sided defender or attacker who has been one of the most consistent players to wear the blue of Amlwch.
Won the North Wales Supplementary Cup in 2018-19 and North Wales Women’s League Division Two title in 2019-20.
Also was part of the Ynys Môn side which reached the Inter-Games final against Isle of Man in 2019. Currently not playing,
Top class defender who represented Amlwch in their 2019-20 title-winning term before beginning an association with Llangefni Town, which culminated in topping the North Wales Women’s League in invincible fashion last season.
Strong in the tackle, good on the ball. Beth was in the Ynys Môn squad which reached the 2019 Inter-Games final and has featured in recent Island Games tournaments.
Captain Fantastic for Amlwch Town over numerous seasons before signing for CPDM Bangor in 2024-25.
Led Amlwch to their first-ever trophy – the North Wales Supplementary Cup – in 2018-19 and followed up with the North Wales League Division Two title in 2019-20.
Hailing from Llannerchymedd, strong in the tackle and a tremendous organiser and motivator at the back, Lewis was also part of the Ynys Môn squad which won silver at the 2019 Inter-Games Football Tournament.
Four years later, she captained the Ynys Môn women’s team which finished a highest-ever fifth place in an official Island Games during 2023.
Over a 22-year span, Carol has represented Môn at six Island Games – 2003 (aged 15), 2015, 2017, 2019 (Inter-Games), 2023 and 2025.
Mainly a midfield player, but always adaptable, Meinir was a true Amlwch stalwart, winning the North Wales Supplementary Cup with the islanders in 2018-19 and the North Wales League Division Two title the following season.
She has also represented Ynys Môn at the International Island Games.
Last season this evergreen 61-year-old turned out for Trearddur Bay while Amlwch took a break.
A highly-rated hockey international, Meinir has represented the Wales over-50 and over-55 sides and won many honours with the Bangor City club,
Midfield genius who cannot stop winning trophies and made a huge impact when she joined Amlwch Town in 2019-20.
Ffion topped the Division Two chart with 19 league goals as Town lifted the North Wales League Division Two title. She was signed by then manager Mo Eynon after impressing for Ynys Môn at the 2019 Inter-Games.
The centre of the park magician has also won the North Wales Women’s League title with Caernarfon Town and Llangefni Town, as well as the Ardal North in Llandudno colours.
In a similar style to Ffion Owen, this Amlwch Town legend is renowned for her killer passes, stunning set-piece deliveries and endless goals supply.
Scored in the 2-1 North Wales Supplementary Cup final victory over Wrexham AFC Women in 2018-19 and bagged eight goals in the 2019-20 league title success.
Tremendous shooter who has also tested success at Caernarfon Town, Bangor City and Llangefni Town,
Right-wing ace who joined Amlwch Town in March 2022 and went on to score a tremendous 33 goals in 46 league and cup appearances for the islanders, including three hat-tricks.
In 2022-23, she netted 16 times in 20 outings for Amlwch in the North Wales Women’s League
Jones made the Ynys Môn squad which impressed at both the 2023 Island Games in Guernsey and Orkney last year. She scored in both tournaments.
Starting off with Llangefni Girls, Jones emerged as an under-16 star at Felinheli (then known as Bethel) in 2019-20. She has spent the past two seasons with Felinheli, but has committed to Bangor City Women 1876 for 2026-27.
Brilliant servant to Amlwch whose non-stop style has made her an essential ingredient for many
Town teams since she joined the club in 2015.
Can play in just about any position and always gives 100 percent.
Has probably made in excess of 100 appearances for Amlwch and featured in all the team’s biggest achievements.
Has registered herself for the 2026-27.campaign.
One of North Wales women’s football’s all-time finest strikers.
Perhaps best known for being tournament top-scorer when Ynys Môn reached the 2019 Inter-Games Final.
Had a fantastic 2019-20 season for Amlwch when she netted 16 goals as the islanders were crowned North Wales League Division Two champions.
Past clubs include Caernarfon Town, Wrexham Ladies and Bangor City but many of her best days have been in an Amlwch Town shirt.
Dazzling left winger who burst onto the scene with her stunning performances for Ynys Môn in the 2019 Inter-Games, scoring in the final.
That earned her a move to Amlwch Town, where she notched 14 goals as the Anglesey side rejoiced at lifting the North Wales Women’s League title. The previous season Catrin has recorded 18 goals in 12 games for Bethel.
