Division One

Abergele 1st XI (4) 134-10 Buckley 1st XI (18) 138-6

Recent signing Nathijan Jeganathan produced the most vital knock which led Buckley to victory at Pentre Mawr Park.

Jeganathan left Northop last month to join the Bucks and on Saturday his patient 45 not out made a big difference to the final outcome.

After winning the toss and opting to bat, Abergele could only muster a modest 134 all out, extras the top-scorer on 34, while Sebin Sebastion made 29.

For the visitors, Fabio Franco snapped up 4-31, Matthew Blunden 2-15 and Louis Parry 2-24.

Number three bat Jeganathan held the Bucks reply together, the Flintshire outfit finishing on  138-6 in 31.1 overs, 38 extras providing a big boost, Karl Higgins bagging 2-36 for the hosts.

Connah’s Quay 1st XI (19) Bangor 2nd XI (-18) – Bangor 2nd XI conceded

Conwy 1st XI (7) 227-10 Llandudno 1st XI (18) 240-5

Australian Sean McFarlane hit an unbeaten 85 and then claimed five wickets in a magical all-round performance which proved crucial in Llandudno’s narrow victory at neighbours Conwy.

Opener McFarlane, who hails from the capital Canberra, was the central figure in Tudno’s effort of 240-5 off 45 overs, hitting eight fours and a six.

The visitors were 147-5 when McFarlane got together with Kevin James and the pair added a decisive undisturbed stand of 97 for the sixth wicket.

Veteran James, edging ever closer to 5,000 runs for the club, made a timely 61 not out from just 39 deliveries, cracking seven boundaries and three maximums.

Conwy gave it a good go in response, but were eventually bowled out for 227 in the final over.

McFarlane was the star again with 5-59, Lalmon TV taking 2-42.

Aussie opener Harrison Hudson gave Conwy hope with another superb innings of 93, putting on 92 with Daniel Davies (28), but it was not to be for the Castlemen.

The result lifted Tudno back into top spot, with Conwy seven points behind in second.

Gresford 1st XI (18) 202-4 Northop 2nd XI (5) 199-6

Joseph Benson’s key knock of 92 did most to ensure Gresford romped to a six-wicket triumph at Clappers Lane.

Northop seconds set a challenging target of 200 for victory, posting 199-6, James Roberts 58, skipper Thomas Hughes 35 and Charley Greig 33, Sam Thompson  the best home return of 2-38.

Benson’s top quality effort included 13 fours and three sixes, and he also figured in a third-wicket stand of 110 with Chris Ellwood (30).

Gresford reached a winning 202-4 off 35 overs.
