Captain fantastic Zac Davies was a hat-trick hero for a Penycae side which clinched victory with four goals in a frantic eight-minute spell early in the second half.
Tier 5 underdogs Chirk had more than held their own in the opening 45 minutes and went in at the break level at 1-1, but the tie turned dramatically in that early second period onslaught from the hosts.
The opening play saw both sides with plenty of possession but few chances. It became a bit more open and the home side went close through Thomas Edwards and Josh Millington.
Chirk always looked dangerous on the break with Tom Freeman looking sharp.
On the half hour mark Chirk’s Lewis Jones appeared to be have been fouled in the Cae box but the referee waved play on despite the away side protests.
It took until the 43rd minute until the scoring was opened with Davies putting the home side ahead. However, Chirk responded immediately and Freeman levelled for The Colliers on the stroke of half time.
The second period again started pretty even until that mad eight-minute spell saw the game effectively over with the home side scoring another four.
On 51 minutes Davies scored his second, then minutes later Sammy Nash unfortunately mis kicked past his own keeper Fin Gunn to make it 3-1.
Then the impressive Edwards made it 4 from the spot and Davies completed his hat trick on 59 minutes.
