Connah’s Quay Nomads appoint new women’s team manager

Connah’s Quay Nomads have appointed Andy Griffiths as its new women’s team manager.
Griffiths, a UEFA B Licence holder, formerly played for Nomads’ men’s first team and now returns to lead the women’s set-up, taking over from Jordan Parry, who recently stepped down after five successive seasons at the helm.
The 47-year-old Griffiths was at Wrexham AFC between 1995-99, playing regularly for the reserves and youth teams.
He later went on to make 172 appearances for the Nomads in all competitions from 1999-2005..
Griffiths already has vital experience in the women’s game with a managerial stint at Tranmere and an U19s assistant role at Wrexham.
With Nomads having won the Adran North title for the past two seasons, but missed out on promotion to the Adran Premier after back-to-back play-off defeats, Griffiths’ chief aim will be to get the team up to Tier 1.
As part of a women’s section restructure at the club, there are new roles for long-serving Aimee Redfern and Chris Redfern.
Aimee enters her fifth season at the Nomads, but shifts emphasis from playing into coaching as she becomes assistant-manager to Andy Griffiths. Chris takes on the title director of women’s football for the Deesiders.
Neil Stevens will also be continuing his role as coach, while Craig Rogers and Carl Butler become new women’s U19s / development coaches.
