CPD Y Rhyl 1879 is already a hive of activity when it comes to planning for next season.

The Lilywhites had an excellent first season in the Tier 2 JD Cymru North, finishing fifth in the table and reaching the JD Welsh Cup semi-finals.

Manager Paul Moore is promising a number of exciting new additions to the squad in the coming weeks and has emphasised the determination to build on this season’s successes in 2026-27.

Moore has declared the following retained and released list so far………….

RETAINED

Jack Parry – Striker who was a great success in first season at Rhyl, making 32 appearances and scoring 11 goals
Sam Duffy – After joining from Denbigh in January, became a key part of the squad during the second half of the season
Rocco Hewitt – Combative midfielder who joined the Lilywhites at the start of 2025-26, making 34 appearances over the campaign
Mo Ali – Somalia international signed for Rhyl from Llandudno this season, played in 20 matches and scored an unforgettable goal in Welsh Cup win over Barry Town United.
Ben Lightfoot – Midfield ace who produced 11 goals, 4 assists and countless big performances in 2025/26, including the Welsh Cup winner against Porthmadog and that stunning semi-final strike vs Caernarfon Town.
Ben Lawrence – In 2025-26 he made 23 JD Cymru North appearances, 2 goals, 2 assists and that unbelievable strike away at Guilsfield.
Morgan Murray – Huge player for Lilywhites this season, his stunning form earning him a place in Cymru North representative side – 39 appearances, 6 goals, 15 assists, several stunning free-kick net-busters. At just 23 so much more to come.
Archie Jones – Joined Rhyl in January 2025 and was outstanding in attack this season, netting 14 times in 28 appearances.
Reece Fairhurst – Captain fantastic commits for another season. Dominant central defender is Lilywhites record appearance maker on 158.
James Farr – In his first season at the Hops and Barley Community Stadium, Farr became an established regular with 35 appearances.

RELEASED/DEPARTED

Oliwier Fiedor – Joined Rhyl in January and made a few substitute appearances for the first team.
Dan Atkins – Exciting forward who featured in 15 games and scored three goals for the Lilywhites after joining from Colwyn Bay on loan in January.
Tom Kemp – Popular defender who has rejoined Prestatyn Town after two seasons at Rhyl where he made 69 appearances, scoring 9 goals.
Damase Kiwanda – Goals, power, passion… and those iconic somersault celebrations. Kiwanda will be remembered with much affection at Rhyl where he took part in 32 games and scoring three times in 2025-26
Alex Swindell – Goalkeeper who was one of Rhyl’s very finest performers in 2025-26, making 34 appearances and producing endless memorable saves, none more so than that late effort in the Welsh Cup win over Barry.
