Two new arrivals have been announced by CPD Y Rhyl 1879 – one of them a familiar face.
Josh Lawrenson and Daniel Apantaku Aveiros are high-quality additions to Paul Moore and Ronnie Green’s JD Cymru North squad for the 2026-27 season.
The Lilywhites finished an excellent fifth in their debut campaign at Tier 2 and will be aiming for even better this time around.
Midfield ace Lawrenson returns to the Hops and Barley Community Stadium after moving on seven matches into the 2025-26 season.
Prior to that, he played an important role in Rhyl’s charge to the 2024-25 Ardal North West title, appearing in the final nine matches.
After impressing throughout his trial period with the Lilywhites, Apantaku has earned his place in Moore’s squad ahead of the new campaign.
A commanding and athletic defender, he has caught the eye with a series of excellent performances during pre-season, showcasing his versatility by excelling at both right-back and centre-half.
Apantaku has played at a good level in the English pyramid with Newcastle Town, Nantwich Town and Hyde United.
