With the North Wales Coast West Premier Division title and NWCFA Intermediate Challenge Cup already in the bag, the Penwaig were going for a three-timer, but it was not quite their evening.

Noa Griffith gave United a half time lead with a 42nd minute finish following a Steffan Toplis assist.

Two minutes into the second half, Math Jones levelled for Nantlle, but at the end of 90 minutes and the added half-hour, the score remained 1-1.

So it was down to penalties and Vale triumphed 4-2 – Ashley Owen slotting the winning kick – to lift some well-deserved silverware following a fine season at Maes Dulyn.

NEWFA HORACE WYNNE CUP FINAL

Greenfield 0 FC Queens Park 6

Queens Park completed a treble by delivering six of the best in Friday night’s final at Broughton.

The North East Wales League Division 1 champions and Premier Cup winners added a fourth Horace Wynne Cup success in five seasons to their collection at the expense of Greenfield.

Six different scorers appeared on the sheet for Arran Taylor’s side – Ryan Kershaw, Sam Molyneux and Jordan Williams in the first half and Tom Freeman, Nicky Williams and sub Kieron Jones after the break.

The Park ended the season having not lost a game in 90 minutes for 26 matches. They have won 25 of those, the only defeat coming on penalties to Tier 1 newcomers Holywell Town in the NEWFA Challenge Cup.

Friday’s success means Queens Park have won seven senior trophies as a club in 2025-26.

More on the club’s achievement appears in a separate article on Grassroots North Wales.
