This battle of Llŷn Peninsula sides was settled by a single goal which arrived as early as the second-minute.
Nefyn won a scrappy NWCFA Development League Cup Final thanks to Arwel Huws’ finish from an assist provided by keeper Gruffudd Ifan Roberts.
The Penwaig dominated the first half, but Pwllheli were much improved in the second.
Only an heroic late save from Nefyn goalkeeper Roberts denied Pwll a late equaliser.
Sunday’s result made it 13 matches unbeaten for United, who lie second in the Development League Premier Division.
Nefyn also beat Pwll home and away in the league this season.
The choice of venue for Sunday’s final – Cae Sling, Penmaenmawr, received plenty of criticism beforehand, with Pwllheli stating on their social media attempts to contact the NWCFA to voice their concerns received no response.
With both sides based close to one another in the Llŷn Peninsula. it did seem a strange decision to make the players, coaches and supporters travel such a long distance – a round trip of about 80 miles for each – for a game where surely a more local ground to the pair would have made more sense.
