Tier 4 Cwpan Snowdonia Fire Protection Cup: Nefyn and Nantlle Vale will contest 2026 final

NORTH WALES COAST WEST LEAGUE – CWPAN SNOWDONIA FIRE PROTECTION CUP SEMI-FINALS

Gwalchmai 2 (Sawicz 45+1, Mlynarczyk 55) CPD Nefyn United 5 (T Evans 9, 23, R Williams 16, L Williams 20, D Jones 39)

Adroddiad: Y Bardd Penwaig

CPD Unedig Nefyn brushed aside any lingering doubts from their midweek streak-ending loss by dismantling Gwalchmai in a 5-2 semi-final masterclass where the Penwaig netted five times in a first-half 30-minute spell.

It was a performance defined by offensive fluidity and a ruthless opening 45 blitz that ensured their place in the Snowdonia Fire Protection Cup final.

Nefyn didn’t wait for the game to come to them; they seized it. Those first 45 minutes were a clinic in transitional football, orchestrated by the vision of Steffan Toplis and Rhys Williams.

The goals flowed with a rhythm that Gwalchmai simply couldn’t disrupt. Tomi Evans proved why he is a nightmare for defenders, bagging a brace that bookended a relentless attacking display. Rhys Williams and Lewis Williams added to the tally, while Deio Jones ensured the scoreboard reflected Nefyn’s total territorial dominance.

Key to this whirlwind was the service. Toplis provided two pinpoint assists, matching the creative output of Rhys Williams, while Iwan Griffith added another to the tally. For a side that struggled to find the breakthrough at Blaenau Ffestiniog days ago, this was a devastating return to form.

Gwalchmai, to their credit, refused to exit quietly. In first-half injury time, Iwan Sawicz produced a moment of genuine quality, curling a fantastic free-kick into the net to make it 5-1.

It was a goal that raised Gwalchmai’s spirits and served as a reminder that Nefyn could not afford to drop their intensity, even with a four-goal cushion.

With the result largely secured, Nefyn showed the luxury of their squad depth, making three strategic changes at the interval to manage legs ahead of the season’s run-in.

The second half was a more measured affair. Gwalchmai managed to claw back another goal to briefly threaten a miraculous comeback, but Nefyn’s composure remained intact.

The final word belonged to Jac Mlynarczyk, who slotted home the only goal of the second half on 55 minutes.

Nefyn’s focus now shifts to the NWCFA Intermediate Challenge Cup Final against Llandudno Junction next Saturday, April 25, at Porthmadog’s Y Traeth (Kick off 17:30hrs).

Menai Bridge Tigers 1 Nantlle Vale 3 (AET)

Extra time settled a thrilling semi-final between the top two teams in the North Wales Coast West Premier.

After a goalless first half, Nantlle Vale took a 54th minute lead through Aaron Griffiths.

That looked like it might be enough to send Vale through, but John Littlemore’s 15th goal of the season on 87 minutes forced an added half-hour.

And it was the Penygroes visitors who won the day, Osian Jones made it 2-1 in the 101st minute before Luke Phillips sealed it from a Jones assist in the second period.

This sets up a fantastic final with Nefyn United.
