CPD Dinas Bangor City 1876’s 3-1 win at Pwllheli on Saturday saw them set a new record for the most points accumulated in an Ardal Northern season.

Mold Alexandra’s previous highest total of 80 points in winning the first Ardal North West title in 2021-22 had already been equalled by 1876 before their weekend’s trip to the Llŷn Peninsula, but the 2025-26 ANW champions have now achieved a new best tally of 83.

The Citizens won 27 of their 30 league games, drawing two and losing just the one at Llannefydd in February. Michael Johnston’s side piled up 123 goals and conceded 25.

With the Ardal North League Cup final against Llanuwchllyn on May 16 still to come, City already have the league title and FAW Trophy safely stored in the cabinet.

To date, they have played 50 league and cup matches this term, winning 46, drawing 2 and losing just twice, to Cymru Premier Flint Town United in the Welsh Cup semi-final as well as that league reverse to Llannefydd.

They are one of only two Tier 3 teams in history to reach the last four of the Welsh Cup.

In those 50 matches, Bangor have notched 215 goals and conceded 40. They went 32 games undefeated before suffering their first loss.
