That is how to clinch a league title!
A big win over your closest rivals and crowned champions without a single defeat on your record.
Llangefni Town have had some near misses since forming five years ago, but on Sunday it all came right as Dan Gregg and Liam Ewing’s side lifted their first league championship.
Promotion to Tier 2 Adran North now awaits the pride of Ynys Môn – and they have most certainly earned it.
Taking on second-place Kinmel Bay at Cae Bob Parry, the visitors needed to avoid defeat to take the title race to the final round of matches.
Cefni were determined to make a strong start and they certainly achieved that, Ellie Coulson putting them ahead in the very first minute from a Beth Jones assist.
Three further goals in 10 minutes from the hosts ensured the game was all but over by half time.
On the half hour, Beth Jones was the supplier again as top-scorer Amber Brown collected her 22nd goal of a tremendous season.
Then it was time for midfield maestro Ffion Owen to take centre stage.
The 30-year-old island great found the net after 37 and 40 minutes, Brown with one assist, to make it four by the break.
Fittingly, Owen completed her hat-trick early in the second half – a first treble for the Llangefni girl since netting three in a 12-0 beating of Caernarfon Town last season.
Owen has now won league titles with four clubs – the Adran North with Llandudno twice, plus the North Wales League with Caernarfon Town, Amlwch Town (Division Two) and Llangefni.
She joined Cefni at the start of 2024-25 and has bagged 22 goals in 43 appearances, passing 100 career goals in the process.
Kinmel Bay have had a great season, losing only to Llangefni and scoring the highest number of league goals. They deservedly grabbed a consolation in added time through Jess Nettleton. They competed well during other spells in the game, forcing three one-to-one saves from Cefni keeper Katie Spruce.
