ARDAL NORTH WEST – MIDWEEK REPORTS

Corrig McGonigle fittingly scored Bangor’s 100th league goal of the season on a night where the Citizens came from behind to record a fifth win on the bounce in Ardal North West.

Michael Johnston’s side came up against one of their toughest opponents of the campaign, with only the heroics of keeper Carl Jones denying Pwllheli further goals.

The visitors were on fire from the start and took a deserved lead when Cian Pritchard converted a penalty for his 28th goal of 2025-26.

Pwll could have been further in front before Declan McManus equalised from the spot for the hosts after 32 minutes.

In the 39th minute came goal number 100 for the campaign in Bangor’s 24th game as McGonigle profited from a Tommy Creamer assist. The striker is now on 25 league goals this term and 38 in all competitions.

There was no discouraging Pwllheli in the second half as they created plenty of opportunities to grab an equaliser, only for Jones to keep them out, one stop to deny Sion Roberts particularly outstanding.

It was not until the 88th minute that 1876 bagged that vital third goal, sub James Barry giving the league leaders needed breathing space.

Further goals from the bench via Dion Jones and Sam Jones gave the final scoreline a somewhat flattering look.

Trearddur Bay made a welcome return to winning form on Wednesday evening as they halted a run of six consecutive league defeats.

Sebastian Samuel has been a very consistent scorer since joining Bay last November and he struck twice against the bottom side after 13 and 21 minutes to put his side two-up and make it 12 goals for the season. New signing Kaine Bentley assisted for the second goal.

Josh Brown pulled one back for Saints via a penalty on 49 before Trearddur had a spot kick chance of their own after 73, but the usually deadly Tom Hilditch missed the target.

Top-marksman Hilditch would not be denied, though, his 32nd goal of the season from just 27 appearances in the 90th minute via a Sion Edwards assist making sure of a home victory.
