Campbell Harrison leaves role as Trearddur Bay manager

Trearddur Bay have parted company with manager Campbell Harrison.

Harrison took over the Ynys Môn side in May 2025 and in his first season at the helm led them to the Welsh Cup quarter-finals for the first time in the club’s history.

After a strong start to the 2025-26 campaign in Tier 3 Ardal North West, Bay have lost their last five league games and slipped down to 10th in the table.

Trearddur Bay FC released the following statement this afternoon: “Trearddur Bay Football Club can confirm first team manager Campbell Harrison has departed from his role with immediate effect.

“The club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Campbell for his hard work, commitment and contribution during his time in charge. We wish him every success in his future endeavours.

“The club will provide further updates on the first team management structure in due course.”

Harrison was in charge of the Beach Boys for 32 matches in total, winning 19, drawing one and losing 12.

In a golden spell from mid-October into December, the team won eight matches in a row, including brilliant Welsh Cup victories over Glynneath Town (5-2) and Tier 2 club Newport City (5-3).

Recent weeks had seen a number of key players depart the club and results suffer, although Bay did progress to the latter stages of the Ardal North League Cup with a 4-0 triumph at Cefn Albion.

As a player, defender Harrison represented both Cemaes Bay and Porthmadog in the League of Wales and was in the Ynys Môn football team which won gold at the 1999 Island Games in Gotland, Sweden.

Harrison went on to manage Holyhead Hotspur between 2006-09 and 2013-18. In his first spell, he led the club to its highest ever league position of second in the 2008-09 Cymru Alliance campaign.

After a stint back at Porthmadog as assistant to Gareth Parry, Harrison took over at Tier 2 Hotspur again before departing in 2018.

He established the Holy Islanders as a Huws Gray Alliance force, primarily using players from the area.

In 2019, he managed the Ynys Môn squad which won the one-off Inter-Games football tournament held on Anglesey, the hosts beating Guernsey 2-1 in the final.

This made him the first man to win a gold medal for Anglesey at an international tournament as both a player and manager – the feat 20 years apart.

He returned to management this season after a break from the game.
