NORTH WALES COAST WEST: Chris Jones hits 5 in Boded win, 51 goals in seven Premier matches

NORTH WALES COAST WEST LEAGUE – REPORTS AND TABLES FEBRUARY 28
PREMIER DIVISION

CPD Boded 7 CPD Mynydd Llandegai 2

What a day for veteran forward Chris Jones who scored FIVE goals in Boded’s thumping weekend win.
Jones, who has in the past grabbed winning goals in Europe and a Welsh Cup semi-final for Bangor City, showed he still possesses net-finding magic with his quintet against Mynydd Llandegai.
This was a first league win since November for Boded – also versus Llandegai – although in fairness the Ynys Môn team has had to deal with more postponements than most since then.
Jones set the tone with two goals in the first seven minutes and completed his hat-trick before the break, Tom Kelly also on the mark for the hosts, who led 4-2 at the turnaround with Leon Buckland scoring twice for the visitors.
Ioan Tudor made it 5-2 with his first goal for the club before Chris Jones added two more – he also provided two goal assists in a magical display.
Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs 6 Gwalchmai 0
Two goals apiece from Owain Jones-Owen, Gethin Roberts and Iwan Jones ensured fourth-place Blaenau delivered six of the best at Cae Clyd.
CPD Llanberis 4 Nantlle Vale 3
Huw Owen’s 94th minute strike clinched a thrilling win for Llanberis and also delivered a blow to Nantlle Vale’s title hopes.
It was tough on Nantlle, who had fought back to level after going 3-0 down.
Goals from Kurt Hellfeld and Owen in the first half, then a 57th minute third via Gethin Maxwell put the Darans in command, but Vale roared back by netting three in four minutes through Ashley Owen (pen), Owain Ellis and Mathew Davies.
This set up a fascinating finish and it was Llanberis who struck the killer blow.
CPD Llanystumdwy 8 Bontnewydd 0
Llanystumdwy registered their biggest win since dishing out a 9-0 thrashing at Holyhead Town in May 2024.
Guto Gwenallt (2), Daniel Price, Morgan Edwards, Arwyn Jones, Guto Griffith, Rhodri Jones and Cedri Williams shared the goals at Treborth on Saturday.
CPD Penrhyndeudraeth 4 Cemaes Bay 3
Cemaes Bay fought back from 3-0 and 4-1 down to trail by just a goal near the end, but it was not quite enough to earn them reward.
Iwan Lane, Callum Jones, Meilir Edwards and Deegan John split the home goals, Shay Muprhy, Luke McGivern and Tom Wood responding.
Talysarn Celts 3 Llanrug United 3
Kevin Lloyd’s 94th minute equaliser salvaged a point for Llanrug at Gloddfa Glai.
Jack Usher (2) and a Tomos Owen own goal made up the Celts tally, Lloyd with a double and Joshua Evans a single for the visitors.
CPD Nefyn United 8 CPD Llannerchymedd 0
This was Nefyn’s seventh league win on the bounce and the eight goals came from seven different scorers – Steffan Toplis (2), Rhys Williams, Tomos Huw Davies, Ifan Jones, Jake Jones, Noa Griffith and Tomi Evans.
The Penwaig are up to second in the Premier, three points behind leaders Menai Bridge Tigers with two games in hand.

CPD Pentraeth 2 CPD Gaerwen 4
