Eagles has landed manager’s role at Flint Town United!

Becca Eagles (second right – stripes) is the new manager of Flint Town United Ladies

Rebecca Eagles has been appointed player-manager of Flint Town United Ladies, replacing the departing Oli Williams.

Becca, 27, joined the Silkwomen as a player at the start of this season and has made 13 appearances so far for the Genero Adran North side, scoring three goals.

Affectionately known as Boo, the new manager played for Prestatyn Girls from under-10’s through to U16’s, then Everton Girls Centre of Excellence before joining Rhyl Ladies in the Welsh Premier.

In her teens, she was also part of the Prestatyn Girls Under-16 side which won the Welsh Cup in 2015.

Becca is a Wales international, having been capped for her country at under-15 and U-17 levels.

She left Rhyl and joined NFA in 2019-20 before switching to another new team, Connah’s Quay Nomads, that same season.

Becca scored in the Nomads’ famous 2-1 win over Welsh Premier side Port Talbot in the Welsh Cup quarter-finals and helped the Deesiders finish runners-up in North Wales League Division Two, where they went unbeaten in a shortened campaign due to Covid.

After the 2020-21 season was scrapped because of the pandemic, Becca joined newly-formed CPD Y Rhyl 1879 in 2021-22.

Her first season with the Lilywhites was an amazing success as the team was crowned North Wales League champions with an 18-game unbeaten record. Becca netted 17 goals in 18 appearances across all competitions.

For the next three seasons, the midfielder represented 1879 in tier 2 Genero Adran North, although her appearances were limited due to injury.

Nonetheless, she left Rhyl at the end of 2024-25, when the team disbanded, with a brilliant record of 65 appearances, 32 goals.

She is best renowned for her strong tackling, exquisite passing and ability to score from long range as well as excelling from set-pieces.

Becca has settled well into life at Flint and formed good relationships with the squad.

Oli Williams took over as Flint manager in November 2024 and led the team to fifth place in their debut Adran North season.

He was in charge for 26 matches in total, the Silkwomen winning 10 and losing 14.Under his leadership, the team twice made the last 16 of the national Genero Adran Trophy.
