MAJOR TRANSFER NEWS: Jess Jones commits to CPDM Bangor!

Goalscorer supreme Jess Jones has made a surprise transfer move.

The 20-year-old talent is leaving Llangefni Town and will sign for CPDM Bangor.

Since bursting onto the North Wales senior football scene in January 2023. Jess has scored a remarkable 81 goals in just 53 appearances for Llangefni.

However, due to a serious knee injury she has been out of action for almost a year.

She underwent a career-saving operation last summer and has been on the recovery road for some months.

While back in training and featuring regularly in matchday squads for Cefni this season, she has not played in a match since February 16, 2025, at home to Caernarfon Town.

Jess is hopeful she will be back ready to play in March and is looking forward to a fresh challenge at Bangor City Stadium.

She told Grassroots North Wales: “I thought Bangor would be the best option for me when I get back in roughly a month or two.

“They have their own physios and everything there and it’s just a really good atmosphere. I’d love to be part of what they’re building.”

Hailing from Gwalchmai on Ynys Môn, Jess excelled as a prolific markswoman with Caernarfon Town’s Under-16 side which reached the 2021-22 Welsh Cup semi-finals before making Llangefni Town her first senior team in 2022-23.

Debuting in January 2023, she netted 7 goals in 14 appearances in her first season, but in 2023-24 created a storm when she notched an amazing 52 goals in 22 matches.

Last season ended early due to the knee injury, but she still managed 24 goals in 15 games.

The young star also made a major impact for Ynys Môn in the 2023 International Island Games in Guernsey. However, her knee problem kept her out of the 2025 Games in Orkney.

Jess was part of the Llangefni Town side which won the 2023-24 Betty Pickering Cup and twice finished runners-up in North East Wales Women’s League West.

With Cefni unbeaten, riding high in the North Wales Coast League and looking good for promotion to Tier 2 at the end of this season, the club was hopeful Jess would play a major role in their future adventures.

However, she has decided to join CPDM Bangor, who lie next-to-bottom of the T2 Genero Adran North League.

While possessing a squad of gifted players, Bangor have lacked an out-and-out goalscorer for some time. They will be hoping Jess Jones meets that need.
