Kyle Lally was a four-goal hero as Blue Bridge began 2026 on a high note by claiming a first win in seven matches.
Their last victory had come in September, also against Llysfaen, 5-2 away.
On Saturday, Rhyl-based Bridge went two-down, fought back to lead 3-2, but were pegged back to 3-3 by the interval.
It was a Lally double in the second half that sealed the points, the result lifting Blue Bridge to fifth in the table.
Bridge manager Jordie Baker said after the match: “What a way to start 2026 – with three points.
“We knew coming into this game we would struggle having not trained since before Christmas.
“We turned up with a slightly depleted squad and knew the task ahead was going to be tough.
“First 25 minutes of the game, we really struggled with Llysfaen using the switch ball into the channels, which led to them scoring twice.
“After the half-hour mark we started to get a grip of the game and threatened their goal numerous times.
“Second half we always seemed to be in control of the ball and managed to create opportunities.”
Llysfaen got off to a flyer, scoring after 14 and 18 minutes through Steven Collins, Alex Tate and Ashley Morris with the assists.
Lally made it 2-1 on 21, Lewis Evans the provider, before a Joshua Jones penalty levelled it up on 37.
Lewis set up Lally for another after 41, but three minutes into added time, Paul Vinall brought Llysfaen back on terms.
This set up a thrilling second half and it was Blue Bridge who grabbed the honours than to Lally’s net-finders on 60 and 69, Charlie Thorley and Callum Lloyd-Clegg assisting.
Top-marksman Lally is now on 10 goals for the season and in Saturday’s clash became the first Blue Bridge player to score a hat-trick in a competitive game.
This battle of the high-flyers saw Division One leaders Sports edge a 3-2 verdict.
Haydan Kivall handed the visitors a ninth-minute lead, home captain Liam Bowers levelled on 29, but the prolific Mike Jones restored the away advantage on 35, Matty Griffiths with the assist.
Dylan Taylor made it 3-1 Sports after 57, Ste Falvey supplying the opening, but the visitors went down to 10 men when Sam Herd was red-carded on 66.
Bowers then put Rhuddlan right back into it after 67 with his 20th goal of the campaign.
However, the 10 men managed to hold out for the win.
Second-place Penrhyn Bay kept their title bid on course by going nap at home to Crozzy.
Femi Allison set the ball rolling by giving the visitors a 21st minute lead, Hari Bartlett with the assist.
Captain Andrew Butterworth made it two on 33, Gabriel George teeing him up, and Bartlett notched a third in first half added time.
Bernardas Subkovas pocketed Bay’s fourth on 53, George again the supplier, and Tom Cotterell added number five late on.
