Five wins out of five for CPD Cei Connah women’s team!

NORTH EAST WALES WOMEN’S DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE
Coedpoeth United 1 (S Jones 31)
CPD Cei Connah 3 (Harrison 8, 32 pen, R Jones 50)

Stacy Harrison made it 18 goals in five matches with a super double in Cei Connah’s hard-fought victory at Brymbo on Sunday afternoon.
It was a fifth straight victory for league leaders CCC, who are now six points clear of today’s opponents Coedpoeth in second place.
The game kicked off on a sunny but chilly day, the pitch conditions proving challenging for both sides due to the heavy, claggy mud.
The opening minutes were evenly contested, with a slow start as both teams assessed each other, leading to equal chances either side.
Cei Connah took the lead when Amber Taylor broke away on the right wing, delivering a perfect ball to Harrison, who seamlessly slotted it home to give the away team a 1-0 advantage.
With both teams matching each other in physicality, Coedpoeth soon levelled the score. A low shot from Samantha Jane Jones found the back of the net.
Cei Connah continued to press with their attacking style of play, which paid off when Harrison was fouled in the area. She then coolly stepped up and converted the resulting penalty, putting Cei back in the lead
Coedpoeth pushed hard for an equalizer, but Cei Connah were awarded a late free-kick. Becca Jones struck a powerful shot that sailed over the wall and into the back of the net, securing the victory.
