Not only did Prestatyn edge up to third in Ardal North West with this emphatic win over St Asaph, they also stretched their 100 percent home league record to seven straight victories at Bastion Gardens this season.
Town produced a confident and commanding performance as they eased to a comfortable triumph over bottom side Saints, building on a dominant start and never looking back.
The hosts were on the front foot immediately, pressing high and searching for an early breakthrough. Their intent was rewarded almost instantly when Rob Parry met a pinpoint Jordan Worthington delivery, firing home to make it 1–0 within minutes.
Buoyed by the opener, Prestatyn continued to threaten. Jason Akiotu whipped in a superb cross shortly after, finding Jake Walker, whose header unfortunately rose just over the bar. Town were firmly in control, dictating the tempo with slick combinations in midfield, while St Asaph battled valiantly to stay in the contest.
Just after the half-hour mark, Prestatyn doubled their advantage through a beautifully worked move. Parry linked up brilliantly with Akiotu, who sent another quality ball into the area. This time Walker made no mistake, heading home against his former club to make it 2–0.
Prestatyn pushed hard for a third before the interval, earning a flurry of corners, but St Asaph held on and the whistle came with Town two goals to the good at the break.
The second half began just as brightly for the hosts. Within minutes, Sam Henry collected possession on the edge of the box and unleashed a crisp volley. The strike took a deflection off Zebb Edwards and flew past Jake Roberts to extend the lead to 3–0.
Town then made changes, with Lewis Rhodes replaced by Casey Faulker, and Henry making way for Loui O’Carroll, but their control remained intact.
St Asaph, still working tirelessly, mounted a promising attack of their own. After Adam Reid raced off his line to challenge, the loose ball fell kindly to a visiting attacker who fired towards goal- only for Akiotu to appear out of nowhere and produce a stunning diving header off the line to preserve the clean sheet.
More substitutions followed as Ellis Blench, Tom Cardias-Williams, and Mackenzie Stark entered the action, and Prestatyn continued to chase further goals. Faulkner almost added a fourth, forcing Roberts into a sharp save.
With time ticking away, the home side finally capped their evening in fitting style. Worthington, who had been relentless throughout, saw his persistence rewarded when his strike nestled into the bottom corner, sealing a deserved 4–0 victory
