NORTH WALES COAST EAST LEAGUE – REPORTS AND TABLES

Premier Division

Llandudno Amateurs 2 Llandudno Junction 0

This man never stops scoring great goals

Despite picking up a third win in four league games this was a far from convincing performance from Llandudno Amateurs who were second best to Junction for long spells.
Amateurs gave the ball away far too much, creating their own problems.
However, the hosts defended superbly and Junction found home keeper Kyle King in excellent form.
Amateurs dug in deep and showed another side of themselves to get an excellent result.
The hosts were clinical when chances came with 2 outstanding goals. The first to put them 1-0 up at half time was an excellent long range strike from Lee Thomas which found the bottom corner beating keeper Cain Folly at full stretch.
The second goal to put the game to bed came towards the end. Danny Hughes beat a couple of players, then he reversed his pass back to new signing Ben Jones who curled in a beauty from the edge of the area on his debut.
Junction threw everything at their opponents in the second half but Amateurs stood firm and defended superbly, King concocting some great saves.

CPD Bro Cernyw 1 Mochdre Sports 5

Mochdre man of the match Niall Owen – football talent certainly runs in the family

A largely dominant performance from Mochdre where the goalscoring began nice and early when captain Fin Jones headed home a Josh Grimshaw corner after five minutes.
This seemed to relax the visitors a bit too much as they allowed the home side to score a breakaway goal through Carwyn Jones on 18 minutes..
Midway through the first half, Mochdre were awarded a penalty which Niall Owen dragged wide.
Mochdre did eventually retake the lead just before half time as Grimshaw popped up at the back post to slot Kai Davies’ pass home.
The second half was largely Mochdre attack vs Cernyw defence, and when Cian Evans finished off Leon Hender’s cross the points were pretty much secured.
Bro Cernyw were reduced to 10 men on 74 minutes when Harri Roberts was shown a second yellow.
Sports brought on subs, which meant pushing Paddy Hold forward to left wing. This proved a master stroke as Hold rounded off a great first start for the club with two goals to finish the scoring.

Conwy Borough Swifts 4 Llanfairfechan Town 5

Another game involving Llanfairfechan packed with goals.
Their last eight matches have delivered these scorelines: 6-1, 5-5, 2-3, 6-5, 4-2, 4-6, 5-0 and, finally on Saturday, 5-4 at Conwy. That’s 63 goals in those eight games37 for Llanfair and 26 for their opponents.
Cyril Carey’s 95th minute strike won the day for third-placed Llanfair at Y Morfa.
