A great Welsh Cup tie full of goals, great saves and near misses where the lower league side Kinmel Bay were by no means overawed of the task in front of them.

1 min – GOAL: Taylia Chaloner threads a neat ball into the box and ROSIE HUGHES applies the finish. FLINT 1 KINMEL BAY 0
2 min: Almost an instant reply as 16-year-old Baileigh Aaron pressurises the home defence but her instinctive volley misses the target
5 min: Nice pass from Flint’s Beth Roberts releases Ruby Hastings whose strike does not miss by much.
7 min: Baileigh Aaron lashes a super attempt against the bar for the visitors
15 min: Kinmel Bay’s Seren Williams tries her luck from distance and is not far away
16 min: Zoe Stopford drills just wide of a gaping goal from 25 yards

24 min – GOAL: What a strike from SEREN WILLIAMS. From all of 40-45 yards her stunning effort beats keeper Becky Bott – a goal from the second it left her right boot. FLINT 1 KINMEL BAY 1
39 min: Rosie Hughes is denied by keeper Shelby Wild, Beth Roberts hits the loose ball goalwards but Chloe Scanlan manages to deflect the shot over the bar – phenomenal defending
41 min: Beth Roberts shoots straight at the keeper from a good position
45 min: Proof that Rosie Hughes is human! Ruby Hastings crosses low from the right, but Rosie somehow balloons the ball over the bar.
45+2 min – GOAL: Flint paid for their misses when LEXI WALSH showed great determination to win the ball before her low shot squirms into the net through keeper Bott. FLINT 1 KINMEL BAY 2.

52 min – GOAL. Flint came out for the second half all guns blazing and soon got their reward. ROSIE HUGHES picks up a loose pass, advances in the box and fires past Wild – FLINT 2 KINMEL BAY 2

56 min: Wild saves brilliantly from Chaloner
57 min – GOAL: Becca Eagles threads a through ball for BETH ROBERTS who beats the offside trap and finishes well. FLINT 3 KINMEL BAY 2
59 min: Bay certainly have not given up, Walsh creates space, sees her shot superbly kept out by Bott, and Aaron’s rebound is fired straight at keeper
60 min: Wild denies Beth Roberts with another brave effort
61 min – GOAL: Rosie Hughes lobs a high ball across the area, Wild palms clear and SHONA ROBERTS blasts home. FLINT 4 KINMEL BAY 2
63 min: Bay retort – Aaron heads inches wide
70 min: Georgia Williams thunders a fine effort against the Flint bar
71 min – PENALTY: Handball against Eagles, Seren Williams hammers spot kick against the bar.
79 min: Aaron goes desperately close with another shot.
84 min: Walsh hits the outside of the post – that’s the fifth time in the match that Kinmel Bay have struck the goal frame
90 min: Shona Roberts races back to clear off the goal-line.
