North East Wales League: Chirk upset leaders, Acton and Caerwys top of their trees

North East Wales Football League round-up – Saturday, September 20

Coedpoeth United remain top of Division 1 despite a heavy 4-0 home defeat to Chirk AAA. The Colliers’ Tom Freeman is one goal behind Michael Latham in the top scorer charts after his double today.

Acton go top of Division 2, while Cefn Druids pull away from the bottom two.

CPD Caerwys maintain their 100% league start in Division 3 with a sixth straight league victory. Karl Bacon brought home the proverbial with a hat-trick.

Deeside Dragons are hot on their trail in both the league and scorers charts. Ryan Carrington didn’t add to his 15 goal tally, but Dragons’ Keiye Williams hit the net four times to put him on 12 league goals for the season.

Mynydd Isa stay top of the Reserve Division 1, while Broughton United Reserves go top of Division 2.

Chirk beat league leaders Coedy with a clinical showing at The Cric, Brymbo.

It was a tight affair in the first half with both sides having chances but a Tom Freeman free kick put The Colliers in front at the interval.

Chirk dominated the second period with Freeman scoring his second and Liam Sklenar and young Louie Irving cementing the 3 points.
