The new North Wales Women’s Recreational League season kicked off on Monday night with three matches.
Ten teams will compete in the league’s second season: CPD Merched Llanrwst Unedig, Conwy Borough, Eglwysbach Queen Bees, Mochdre Lionesses, Penmaenmawr Phoenix Blues, Colwyn Bay, Kinmel Bay, Penmaenmawr Phoenix Yellows, Prestatyn Athletic Dragonhearts, Llandudno Valkaries
Newly-formed Llanrwst kicked off with a good victory.
Betsan Williams, Erin Garner, Non Williams, Cari Jenkins and Beca Davies made the scoresheet for the Conwy Valley side, Natalie Barratt netting for fellow new team Valkaries.

The Lionesses fought back in the second half, Antonia Lopez halving the deficit, Kelsey Hughes with the assist, then a late own goal from Francesca Giacomet ensured it ended two-apiece.
