North Wales Women’s Recreation League 2025/26 – new girls Llanrwst off to a flyer

CPD Merched Llanrwst Unedig got off to a good start on Monday night. The team would like to thank Siop Gymunedol CPD Llanrwst FC Community Shop for sponsoring their kit and also sponsoring last night’s game.

The new North Wales Women’s Recreational League season kicked off on Monday night with three matches.

Ten teams will compete in the league’s second season: CPD Merched Llanrwst Unedig, Conwy Borough, Eglwysbach Queen Bees, Mochdre Lionesses, Penmaenmawr Phoenix Blues, Colwyn Bay, Kinmel Bay, Penmaenmawr Phoenix Yellows, Prestatyn Athletic Dragonhearts, Llandudno Valkaries

REPORTS – MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 1

CPD Merched Llanrwst Unedig v Llandudno Valkaries

Newly-formed Llanrwst kicked off with a good victory.

Betsan Williams, Erin Garner, Non Williams, Cari Jenkins and Beca Davies made the scoresheet for the Conwy Valley side, Natalie Barratt netting for fellow new team Valkaries.

Penmaenmawr Phoenix Blues 2 Eglwysbach Queen Bees 2

It ended all-square at Cae Sling with Eglwysbach twice coming back from a goal down to snatch a point.

Jade Ward gave Phoenix a 14th minute lead before Stena Hoerner levelled after 17, but Amy Rowlands notched Pen’s second prior to the break.

Kaycee Blood equalised for the Queen Bees in the second half and 2-2 it how it sayed.

Mochdre Lionesses 2 Conwy Borough 2

A Bethan Smith own goal four minutes in gave Conwy the lead before captain Carly Andrews made it 2-0 with 16 on the clock.

The Lionesses fought back in the second half, Antonia Lopez halving the deficit, Kelsey Hughes with the assist, then a late own goal from Francesca Giacomet ensured it ended two-apiece.
