Owen Reilly struck a remarkable career best 136 for MCC against one of his past teams Wales NC North in a high-scoring match at Smithy Lane. Northop Hall, last Sunday.
All-rounder Reilly, formerly of Bangor CC but this season playing for Cheshire-based Marple CC, was in dominant form after MCC won the toss, elected to bat, and rattled up 283-7 off 50 overs.
Reilly’s ton came off 148 balls and included 21 fours. He shared in a stunning partnership of 182 for the fifth wicket with Mochdre’s Matty Humphreys, also a past Wales NC North player, who made 65.
For Wales NC North, Gwersyllt Park’s Jack Billington claimed 2-36 and Ranija Abeysinghe scooped 2-43.

Opener Elliot Colclough of Northop posted 61, young Louis Boulton of Mold finished 56 not out and captain Jake James made 43.
M Mohammad picked up 4-38 for MCC.
Star of the show was undoubtedly Anglesey man Reilly, who took 5-29 for Cricket Wales AGAINST the MCC at Lord’s in 2022.
He represented Wales NC North 19 times between 2022-24 and played once for Wales NC in a match against Wiltshire, picking up two wickets in a three-day NCCA Western Division Two victory at Panteg.
Reilly played for Bangor CC between 2019-24 having previously represented Pwllheli (2016-18) and Holyhead (2014-15).
The 23-year-old fast bowler and opening batsman also had a spell in Australia with Bassendean CC of Perth.
He joined Stockport-based Marple at the start of the 2025 season.
Before Sunday’s 136 for MCC, Reilly’s previous highest score was 111 not out for Bangor against Mochdre in 2022.
