All-rounder Owen Reilly has chance to shine – for and against Wales!

Owen Reilly has a lot of prestigious level cricket coming up

Bangor Cricket Club all-rounder Owen Reilly will have a double opportunity to make his mark in the next few days – for and against Wales.

This Sunday, he is in the Wales NC North senior squad to take on Leeds Beckett University at Brymbo.

Then, from July 3-5, Reilly will represent the MCC in an international friendly against a Wales invitational side at Lisvane, near Cardiff.

In 2022, Reilly took 5-31 for a Wales select against the MCC at Lord’s – a performance which truly launched him onto the national cricket scene.

Since then he has represented Wales NC North and the full Wales National Counties side.

The Anglesey-based 22-year-old began his senior cricket days at Holyhead/Anglesey Aluminium and went on to Pwllheli before joining Bangor in 2019.

The right-arm paceman has taken 108 league wickets for the Citizens over the past six seasons, including a best of 40 in 2022. He is joint-top of the club’s wickets list this term with 21 so far.

He has made a league century for Bangor’s first team and has compiled 2013 runs for the team since 2019.

This Sunday sees Wales NC North host Leeds Beckett University, while Wales NC North Under-19s head to the Merseyside T20 Tournament in Warrington from July 1-3.

More good news for Bangor CC is the selection of outstanding young wicket-keeper batsman Cian Williams for Wales NC North on Sunday.
