JD CYMRU NORTH – REPORTS AND TABLE, AUGUST 25

Holywell Town 5 Ruthin Town 1

Five straight wins and five goals on Bank Holiday Monday – it was certainly a case of high fives for Holywell Town.

Johnny Haselin’s side maintained their 100 percent record after recovering from a goal down to whip visitors Ruthin at the Bartons North Wales Stadium.

Tomos Salisbury gave Ruthin a surprise lead after four minutes, but it was 1-1 with seven on the clock, Jamie Breese on target following a Craig Lindfield assist.

Lindfield and Breese added another goal apiece before the break, both assists provided by Jack Sconce.

Lindfield made it 4-1 with 70 gone and then supplied his second assist of the afternoon, enabling the in-form Fabrizio Murtas to make the scoresheet.

Airbus UK Broughton 5 Brickfield Rangers 0

Kaiden Cooke was a hat-trick hero for an Airbus side which proved far too strong for Cymru North new boys Brickfield.

The 2024-25 league Young Player of the Season, Cooke’s tally was made up of two goals and a penalty, 49, 54 and 80 being the minutes he scored them.

Nathan Williams and James Davies also struck for the Wingmakers, with Mason Blackwell-Jones providing two assists.

Oliver Blayney, Max Moore and Bradley Knight (penalty) came up with the goals which banked maximum points for Buckley.

Mountain had coach Jamie Welsh ordered from the bench on 71 minutes after receiving a second yellow card.

Mold Alexandra 0 Guilsfield 0

No goals at Alyn Park on a tough, hot afternoon which saw both sides take a point.

Newtown 2 Caersws 1

Eighteen-year-old sub Findlay Starkey-Jones was the toast of Latham Park after scoring an added time winner for Newtown.

Jamie Hyne edged the hosts one-up in the 47th minute, Sam Phillips levelled on 69, but Starkey-Jones, who took the field on 73, ended up the hero.
