JD CYMRU NORTH REPORTS – FEBRUARY 27, 2026

Holywell Town 5 Denbigh Town 1

Report: Ollie Beech

Three goals inside the first seven minutes set up Holywell for one of their best league wins of the season.

The contest began as it would continue for the majority, with Denbigh on the back foot.

Within a minute, the hosts had the lead when Ryan Edwards fired home from range.

Soon it was two as Jake Cooke popped up at the back post to head home Jack Sconce’s cross from the left.

Three minutes later, a congested penalty area resulted in Craig Lindfield poking into the net.

Holywell almost made it four 11 minutes in only for Jamie Breese’s effort one on one to be denied by an excellent stop from Oli Farebrother.

Just after the half hour, Breese with his back to goal was able to turn before firing at goal but it was tipped behind by Farebrother.

The corner was headed towards goal at close range by Lindfield, only for Farebrother to deny him brilliantly.

However, minutes before the break the home side had their fourth. Edwards’ through ball found Cooke, who drilled it in with only Farebrother to beat

Half-Time: Holywell Town 4-0 Denbigh Town

The game levelled out to a degree after the break, with Denbigh shoring up at the back and there were no real clear cut chances at either end for the majority of the half.

Going into the final quarter of an hour things picked up once again, and the Wellmen’s top scorer Breese finally had his goal on 78 minutes – his 23rd of the season.

It took until the 83rd minute for Denbigh to go close when Nathan Brown’s free-kick from 25 yards crashed off the crossbar.

The visitors did bag a consolation late on when Owen Davies’ ball over the top for Alfie Vaughan saw the forward lob substitute ‘keeper Tyler French to at least give those supporters behind the goal something to cheer for.

Flint Mountain 0 Newtown 1

As was the case in midweek, Flint Mountain lost to the only goal of the game at Bastion Gardens.

Newtown’s Findlay Starkey-Jones netted the winner after 24 minutes.
