Here it is….the line up for the new Tier 3 Central Wales North Women’s League

Airbus hope to make their mark in the new Central Wales North Ladies League in 2025-26

A new women’s football league launches next month.

Fixtures in the Central Wales North Ladies League begin on Sunday, September 14.

10 teams from across North East Wales and Central Wales will compete.

The league has been sanctioned by the Central Wales FA and FAW.

The former North East Wales Women’s League, which accommodated teams from NE Wales and the North Wales coast for the past two seasons, is no more.

A new North Wales Coast Women’s League has been formed, with North East Wales teams now amalgamating with Central Wales sides.

Here is line up for CENTRAL WALES NORTH

Airbus UK Broughton

After competing in Tier 2 Adran North between 2021-22 to 2023-24, Airbus participated in the Ter 3 North East Wales League East Division last season.

Airbus Women have a longer history than many North Wales teams.

For several years they played in the English North West Women’s Regional League (NWWRFL) which they won twice.

In 2011/12 they joined the North Wales Women’s Football League and became one of its strongest members, finishing runners-up in 2012-13 and winning a couple of league cups along the way.

Berriew Development

With their first team being promoted to Tier 2 Genero Adran North this season, Berriew have entered a development side in the Central Wales North.

Buckley Town

New team formed for this season run by experienced management trio, head coach Ffion Cooper, with Dave Cooper and Darren Gilmour as assistant-coaches.

Coedpoeth United

Formed in 2024/25, spent their debut season finding their feet in the North East Wales Women’s League East Division.

Llanidloes Town

Powys pioneers are returning to competitive women’s football in 2025.

Formed in 2000, Llanidloes dominated Mid-Wales football before joining the National League in 2009.

For the first three seasons, the league was divided into a North and South Conference, Llani were part of the Northern Conference and finished runners-up three times before the league became fully national in 2012-13.

They competed well for two seasons, but after changing their name to Hafren Ladies in 2014-15 they resigned before a ball was kicked.

The Daffs returned in 2017 to join the North Wales Women’s League but it was a short-lived venture.

Newtown

Another club relaunching a women’s team after a long break.

There are records of a Newtown ladies side going back to 1973.

Northop Hall

One of the most accomplished sides in the new league.

The club’s senior women’s team joined the Welsh Premier League northern conference in 2011-12 and were founder members when the league became a fully-national, one division competition the next season.

Hall withdrew from the league midway in the 2013/14 season because of a lack of players.

They reformed to join the North Wales Women’s League, being crowned champions in 2015-16 and 2017-18, also winning cups along the way.

Competed in the North East Wales League East Division for the past two seasons.

Tregaron Turfs

Thriving team with a tremendous success record in the Ceredigion Ladies League.

Turfs are six-time Ceredigion League champions and have lifted the Ceredigion League Cup on seven occasions.

Welshpool Town

Have competed in the North Wales Women’s League and North East Wales Women’s League East Division in recent seasons, as well as having a spell in the Staffordshire Girls and Ladies League.

Wrexham City Foresters

Newly-formed club whose women’s team aim to make a big impact in their first league season.

Mission statement: “Grassroots-first football club with a mission to foster and develop local talent, and create pathways for players of all abilities up to Pro Men’s and Women’s”.
