Both teams could take major positives from Friday evening’s FAW Amateur Trophy clash at Bastion Gardens, Prestatyn.
In notching up 10 goals, tier 3 Bangor City 1876 played sharp, flowing football and produced some excellent finishes.
However, tier 5 opponents Blue Bridge battled right to the end, defended really well at times and their 18-year-old goalkeeper Luke McGuinness pulled off a series of great saves.
Bridge will not come up against a team of such quality in North Wales Coast East Division One this season and should look ahead with optimism that they can chalk up their share of wins at T5 level.
City took a sixth-minute lead when Dylan Summers-Jones crossed low from the left and Corrig McGonigle fired home from 10 yards.
On eight minutes, McGuinness got down brilliantly to keep out a downward header, but the ball ran to James Barry who lashed in a fierce shot.
Blue Bridge were unfortunate when defender Michael Williams headed into his own net from a Barry cross in the 10th minute.
Three goals conceded in the first 10 minutes – Bridge heads could easily have dropped, but they didn’t.
McGonigle struck the post before the hosts created their best chance, Thomas Bamber’s cross from the right met by a Kyle Lally header, which keeper Bradley Farrar just managed to keep out.
Logan Williams headed against the upright for the visitors and Bangor would not score again until the 41st minute, McGonigle nodding in a Cai Powell-Roberts delivery from the right.
In added time at the end of the first half, Summers-Jones set up Liam Morris for number five.
The Ardal North West favourites took a little while to find their rhythm after the restart, but managed to make it 6-0 in the 56th minute when Summers-Jones scored with a low drive.
Just a minute later, Morris hit a left-foot stunner beyond McGuinness for 7-0.
Summers-Jones notched his second and Bangor’s eighth when he volleyed in a Morris centre from the left after 67 minutes.
Sixteen-year-old prospect Cai Williams came on for the visitors and looked very impressive.
The youngster should have scored from close range on 82, but McGuinness somehow produced a miracle tip over.
Logan Williams produced the goal of the night in the 87th minute, a left-foot stinger from all of 30 yards which hit the net like an exocet missile.
And it became 10 when Ben Owen applied a classy deft finish from a low Powell-Roberts cross.
McGuinness produced some marvellous one-on-one saves in the closing minutes to round off a performance he could be proud of.

Tier four side Chirk fought back from two-down to beat T5 visitors Llandyrnog with three second-half strikes.
Captain Adam Harvey-Davies gave Dyrny a 29th minute lead and early in the second period, new signing Steffan Jones struck again for the villagers.
However, Chirk were far from finished and Keegan Jakovlevs halved the deficit with 56 on the clock, Tom Freeman laying on the goal.
Liam Sklenar levelled the tie on 73 and Josh Williams delivered an 80th minute decider, both goals arriving from Matty Tombs assists.
