It’s been a big day for CPD Y Rhyl 1879 on the signings front.

Following the news that star striker Dylan Proctor is remaining at the club after a contract wrangle was resolved, the Lilywhites have unveiled some new faces arriving at the Hops and Barley Community Stadium today.

Jack Parry

One of North Wales football’s signings of the summer so far.

This 19-year-old striker enjoyed a fantastic 2024-25 at Flint Mountain in the club’s debut Cymru North season, scoring 15 goals in 27 league games.

His football journey has seen him develop through the ranks at Crewe Alexandra as a scholar, before going on to represent Flint Mountain at senior level.

On joining Rhyl, Jack said: “I’m excited to play for such a massive club and in front of the incredible support this club gets.

“I’m hoping to build on my 15 goals last season and help take Rhyl back to where they belong.”

Ben Lightfoot

A composed and hard-working midfielder who can operate as a CDM or CM, Ben brings experience from spells with Skelmersdale United, Garswood United and AFC Liverpool.

1879’s new signing said: “I’m excited about joining CPD Y Rhyl 1879 as it’s a new challenge for me — a different league, different opposition, and a different environment. After speaking to the management about their ambitions for this season, I bought into it straight away, and I’m excited to see what we can achieve together.

“I want to help the club finish as high up the table as possible. Personally, I’m aiming to get a full season under my belt, enjoy my football again, and hopefully show the fans what I’m capable of.”

Rocco Hewitt

Another signing from Flint Mountain who impressed in that club’s first Cymru North campaign, making 22 appearances and scoring twice.

The talented midfielder is eager to continue his development through gaining further valuable tier 2 experience with the Lilywhites

He said: “I’m excited to play for such a big club with a lot of history and to play in front of all the incredible support.”

Morgan Murray

Hometown boy joins his hometown club!

Morgan, 22, is a versatile, creative player who can operate on the left wing, in attacking midfield, or centrally in the middle of the park.

With experience at Prestatyn Town, Conwy Borough, Llandudno and Holywell Town, he brings proven JD Cymru North pedigree to the 1879 squad.

For the past three seasons, Morgan has been at Holywell, where he won the Cymru North title in 2023-24.

He made 109 first team appearances in all competitions for the Wellmen, netting 13 goals.

Rhyl will be the fifth club Morgan has represented in the Cymru North,

Morgan said: “It’s my hometown club. Born and bred in Rhyl, living here for 22 years. Rhyl is the only club I wanted to move to and give the fans something to really get behind. They’re what excited me the most.”

Kieran Baker

Previously at Rhyl 1879 in 2023-24, Baker returns to the Hops and Barley Community Stadium after spells with Buckley Town and Llandudno last season.

A versatile full-back who can operate on either side of the defence, Kieran also brings valuable experience from his time at Tranmere Rovers.

He said: “Paul and Ronnie approached me and what they told me was really impressive with clear ambitions set out for the coming season.

“The big ambition is to get to the Welsh Premier League and help get CPD Y Rhyl 1879 back to where they belong. A few assists and goals will always be nice too!”
