Wayne Jones has stepped down from his role as first team manager of Coedpoeth United to focus on recovering from ill-health.
Wayne took on the position following Karl Fenlon’s decision to bring a decade long stint at the club to an end in September 2023. Tom Redman took temporary charge before Wayne took the reins on a permanent basis.
Wayne has also coached at every age group in the club, and has recently been helping out with Coedy’s newly-formed Women’s Team.
Under Jones’ stewardship, Coedy narrowly missed out on promotion to the Lock Stock Ardal Northern League last season, finishing just outside the automatic spots in third place in the North East Wales League Premier Dvision.
A club statement said: “Everyone at Coedpoeth United would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Wayne for his dedication and service to the club, and we extend our very best wishes to him for a continued and full recovery.”
