NORTH WALES CRICKET LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION – REPORTS SATURDAY, JUNE 7

Conwy (8) 198-7 Mochdre (18) 134-3 – revised target
Champions Mochdre rose to second in the table on an afternoon where some rivals failed to finish their matches due to wet weather.
Hosts Conwy were put into bat and posted a useful score of 198-7 off a reduced 37 overs, opener Oliver Da Costa cracking seven sixes in a whirlwind 48-ball knock of 74.
South African all-rounder Da Costa put on 102 for the first wicket with Evan Williams (22), while Shaun Davies finished 42 not out as the home side dipped from 140-2 to 198-7.
Owen Davies picked up 2-9 and Marcus Mangiameli 2-38 for the visitors.

Brymbo (18) 80-1 Menai Bridge (0) 112-10
On a day where many matches were left incomplete because of rain, Brymbo’s hard work in getting a game in at the SSC paid rich rewards.
The Steelmen inserted visitors Menai Bridge and dismissed them for a low 112 in 46.2 overs, skipper Ashley Wood saving his side from a worse fate with 32 not out.
For the hosts, right-arm paceman Joe Norman claimed 3-15 off 10 overs, James Claybrook 2-14, Chris Taylor 2-18 and Dan Parry 2-23.
The rain came down hard in the break and although the pitch was covered, there was a lot of mopping up on the ground by Brymbo to get back on when the deluge stopped.
In reply, Brymbo were 80-1 off 14,4 when they were declared winners on the DSL method, Johandre Barnard 36 not out and Sam Aplin 35 no to seal an 18-0 points verdict.
