Three North Wales football clubs gain Tier 3 licence on appeal

Three North Wales football clubs have been successful in their appeals against the FAW’s original decision to refuse them a Tier 3 licence for the 2025-26 season.

Llangollen Town, Prestatyn Town and Rhos Aelwyd all gained the third-tier certificate at the second time of trying. Prestatyn recently also won its appeal against a Tier 2 licence rebuff.

The FAW Men’s Tier 3 Appeals Body met on Wednesday to consider the appeals as a result of the First Instance Body decisions for Tier 3 Licensing Applications for the 2025/26 season.

The Panel assessed appeals from the following clubs:

Clydach
Forden United
Llangollen Town
Newport Corinthians
Prestatyn Town
Rhos Aelwyd
Risca United
Taffs Well
Tredegar Town

All ten clubs were successful with their appeals and have been granted an FAW Men’s Tier 3 Club Licence for the 2025/2026 season.
