Franco Kasner led the way with 77 and 4-31 as Bangor began the 2025 season in magnificent fashion with a 68-run home win over neighbours Menai Bridge.

South African all-rounder Kasner, in his fourth year at Ty Newydd, produced his second highest league score for the club – his best of 84 also against the Bridge – as the Citizens, at one stage 33-4, recovered to post 194 all out off 50 overs.

Liam McCann added 38 and new signing Jamie Grimshaw made a more than useful 30.

Gethin Roberts took 3-21 and Liam Bibby 3-26 for the Anglesey side.

In reply, the islanders were dismissed for 126, opener Dion Holden best with 30, spinner Kasner’s four-wicket haul well supported by Nadeem Rehman (2-0) and Joe Maltby (2-16).

Mochdre (18) 181-9 Brymbo (7) 177-5

Champions Mochdre celebrated a thrilling one-wicket victory over Brymbo.

Put into bat, the Steelmen set 177-5, Christopher Taylor top-scoring with 55 and James Claybrook adding 32 not out, Owen Davies 2-15 and Matty Humphreys 2-42 for the hosts.

Mochdre were in big trouble in response at 18-5 before match-winner James French (78) and Humphreys (49) steadied the ship with a sixth-wicket stand of 96.

When the ninth home wicket fell, 18 were still needed for victory, but Owen Davies (22 not out) and Gareth Goodson saw their team over the line.

Captain Daniel Parry claimed a magnificent 6-29 off 10 overs for the visitors, but it proved all in vain.

Conwy (2) 88-10 Denbigh (18) 89-4

Overseas all-rounder Marko Van Voorst produced a great league debut with bat and ball as Denbigh triumphed at newly-promoted Conwy.

Denbigh stumbled to 35-4 before Van Voorst (39 no) and Ieuan Jones (10 no) put on an unbroken 54 to win the game, Oliver De Costa 2-27 for the home side.

Northop (18) 177-3 Gwersyllt Park (3) 173-7
