REPORTS – SATURDAY, MARCH 1

Chirk AAA 4-1 Penycae
Report: Nigel Roberts

Chirk continued their fine run of form with an excellent win over neighbours Penycae.
Both teams started on the front foot which led to an entertaining opening.
Caleb Davies fired the Colliers ahead on 14 minutes only for Penycae to equalise on 22 through a Ben Buley strike from distance.
Chirk’s leading scorer Tom Freeman put the home side ahead again on 27 minutes with a fine indivudual goal to give the hosts a 2-1 half time lead.
The home side went 3-1 up on the hour with a spectacular overhead kick from Niall Freeman and Tom Freeman completed his brace on 83 minutes with a thunderous 18 yard shot to make it 18 goals in 19 games.
This Saturday, the Colliers play their final home game of the season against relegated Llansantffraid.
Chirk need to win their final 4 remaining games whilst hoping the other teams around them drop points to avoid any chance of avoiding the drop.

Builth Wells 2-0 Llanfair United

Builth went top thanks to a two-goal victory secured by net-finders from Alex Hicks and Cormac O’Byrne in the first half.

Llansantffraid Village 2-4 Llandrindod Wells

Patrick Udoh gave Llansantffraid a 20th minute lead with a penalty before Stuart Williams equalised from the spot on 42.
Zak Baker edged Wells in front in first half added time.
Thomas Williams levelled on 54, but further away goals from Robert Kear and captain Shaun Nicholls won it, relegating Llansantffraid in the process.

Llangollen Town 1-4 Llanidloes Town

Tyler Mallett was a hat-trick star for the Daffs, whose other goal came via Mason Jones, Jack Welsh the sole hitman for Llangollen.

Llanuwchllyn 1-1 Cefn Albion

Meilir Williams’ 37th goal of the season put Llanuwchhlyn ahead on 39 minutes, but Alex Williams’ leveller on 76 rescued a point for Albion.
