Who is going to be North Wales senior football’s male hotshot of 2024?

With just a few tier 1, 2 and 3 matches to go before the end of the year, it looks pretty certain Harry Massey of Lex XI will be number 1 hitman, although Meilir Williams of T3 Ardal North East side Llanuwchllyn does have one match left in 2024 to overtake him.

Massey, 24, who was at Overton Recreation before joining Tier 4 North East Wales Premier Division leaders Lex XI this season, has rattled up 54 goals in 31 league and cup matches in 2024, 23 for the Lawmen.

Meilir Williams

Williams is on 48 goals from 42 appearances – all for Tier 3 Llanuwchllyn in league and cup encounters.

Third on 41 goals is Harrison Bellis, who ended the 2023-24 season on fire with then tier 5 side CPD Y Glannau.

Had Bellis remained at tier 4 or 5 level, he could well be ahead of Massey in the chart by now, but he has tried his luck in T2 with Denbigh Town and NFA of T3 this term. In 2024, he has scored 34 for Y Glannau, six for Denbigh and one for NFA, who he joined very recently.

Asa Thomas

Asa Thomas, now at Gwalchmai and compiler of 722 career goals aged 33, has not actually scored since August 3 due to injuries and unavailability, but so prolific was he for Trearddur Bay last season, he has still managed to find the net 40 times in 2024.

Kallum Pierce is an out-and-out goal-getter at tier 5 level and has amassed 37 over the year with Gronant and current club Rhydymwyn.

Holywell Town’s Jamie Breese is the highest-ranked player in the list, operating at Tier 2.

The 32-year-old former Cymru Premier striker has chalked up a fantastic 34 goals in 38 league and cup matches since joining the Wellmen in January 2024.

Also in the 30s goals-wise are Kinmel Bay’s Jacob Jones, Jamie McDaid and Callum Graves of Menai Bridge Tigers, the dynamic Daniel Williams of Penmaenmawr Phoenix, Alwyn Roberts (Mynydd Llandegai). Connor Owen (Gwalchmai), Andrew Vale (Brickfield Rangers) and the magical Danny Warren, who has spent 2024 in Tier 2 with Mold Alexandra and now Airbus.
