Bangor Cricket Club announce two big signings and a promotion!

Nathanael Scott

It may be cold outside but the news across North Wales cricket is red-hot.

Bangor Cricket Club are leading the way with two great signings for the 2025 season.

After seven impressive seasons at St Asaph, Nathanael Scott has made the switch to Ty Newydd.

Since joining Saints in 2017, Scott has amassed more than 4,000 league runs for the club, with whom he won the Premier League title in 2021 and 2023. He has notched six centruries and 29 half-tons for the Elwy Park Grove outfit and accumulated in excess of 5.000 runs in all matches..

In 2024, he won the North Wales Cricket League Premier Division Batting Award.

Scott has also played 12 matches for the Wales NC North representative side.

A Bangor CC statement said of the new arrival: “His consistency, dedication, and passion for the game has been truly remarkable, and we are thrilled that he has chosen Bangor for his next challenge.

“Everyone at the club is excited to see Nat don the Bangor colours, and we look forward to watching him bring his class and experience to the field.

“We’re confident he will play a pivotal role for seasons to come, as he’s also coming on board to help coach and develop our older juniors as they develop into senior cricket “

Also signing for Bangor is all-rounder Jamie Grimshaw, who switches over from Llandudno CC.

Bangor CC said: “Jamie brings a wealth of talent and experience, having played several seasons in the North Wales Premier League.

Known for his aggressive bowling and quality batting, he has been a standout performer for Llandudno Cricket Club in recent years and is eager to make his mark with us.”

A Llandudno player since 2012, Grimshaw has chalked up more than 3,500 club runs, 2,159 for the first team and taken 243 wickets, 166 for the senior XI. He represented Wales NC North in 2022.

More good news for Bangor CC is the promotion of their 2nd XI to North Wales Cricket League Division One for the 2025 season. They were last at that level in 2022.

The club said: “After a time away, we are delighted to be back, and fielding teams in the two highest divisions in North Wales cricket again.”
