Striker Harrison Bellis has left Denbigh Town and signed for tier 3 club NFA.

The 22-year old joined Town of the tier 2 Cymru North in the summer from tier 5 side Y Glannau.

He made 13 first team appearances for Denbigh, mostly from the bench.

During his short spell at Central Park he scored three goals, including a brace against Llangefni Town in the JD Welsh Cup and a last-minute winner in a 4-3 thriller against Bangor 1876.

He also netted a hat-trick in a 5-4 victory for the Reserves at Connah’s Quay Nomads.

Bellis made his name at Y Glannau where he scored a remarkable 144 goals in 71 matches.

In 2022-23, he netted 62 times, then last season he was North Wales football’s top-scorer with 68.

Now comes a move to Rhyl-based NFA, who were tier 4 North Wales Coast East Premier Division champions last season and have made a flying start in tier 3 Ardal North West, currently sitting fourth with an unbeaten home record.

Bellis told Grassroots North Wales he was disappointed his move to Denbigh did not work out, but he is now looking forward to testing his skills in Tier 3.

“I think with Denbigh it’s a case of right place wrong time,” he said. “They couldn’t give me the opportunities I needed to develop and I felt I needed regular minutes.”
