After picking up just a single win in their previous five games Bangor 1876 returned to winning ways at the expense of a Ruthin side which knocked them out of the Nathaniel MG Cup back in July.
The hosts took the lead in the 12th minute shortly after an injury stoppage. James Barry cut the ball back from the left and Ruthin’s Ryan Williams slid in and inadvertently diverted past his goalkeeper Daniel Goldston and into the net.
Just before the quarter hour mark, Bangor doubled their advantage. Cortig McGonigle swung in a corner from the right and Telor Williams headed in from close range.
Ruthin sought a route back into the game and threatened when Jamie Nash sent a powerful shot just over the bar from 20 yards. At the other end, Barry and Joe Sullivan fired efforts narrowly wide from a similar distance.
Telor Williams almost added his second when after receiving the ball near halfway, he strode forward, beat two players and just missed the target with a powerful swerving shot.
Ten minutes before the interval, Ruthin’s Jake Hughes Hampson hit a swerving free-kick from 30 yards which went over the defensive wall and only just cleared the crossbar.
Half-time: Bangor 1876 2 Ruthin Town 0
In the opening stages of the second half, McGonigle got in behind the Ruthin defence but his attempted lob wasn’t quite high enough to beat Goldson.
Shortly afterwards, the visitors went close following a corner but Llyr Morris’s header struck the crossbar and rebounded to safety.
Just before the hour, 1876’s Mason Blackwell-Jones showed pace and skill on the right wing and his cross reached the onrushing Sam Jones, who controlled the ball well before blasting a powerful shot that hit the post.
In the 74th minute, Bangor added a third goal after Blackwell-Jones received a pass from Cai Powell-Roberts before dribbling past two visiting defenders and scoring with a low shot.
Town kept trying, home keeper Bradley Farrar coming out to save well at the feet of Morris, but it ended 3-0 to the hosts.
Ruthless leaders Airbus produced another emphatic win thanks to a hat trick from James Davies and a goal from Oli Lanceley
End-to end play in the first half saw both teams struggle in the final third, but two minutes before the break a cross from Tom Dougherty found Davies, who put the Wingmakers 1-0 up.
Lanceley tapped in for the second 10 minutes into the second half and Davies made it three after Kaiden Cooke’s effort came back off the post.
A great ball from George Peers set up Davies for his hat-trick with 78 gone.
Dave Forbes rescued a point for Gresford with an equaliser a minute into stoppage time after the 90.
Charlie Mann delivered the ball into a crowded box and ex-Holywell front man Forbes got the decisive touch to make it two-apiece.
Athletic led 1-0 at half time, Ilan ap Gareth Jones’ looping volley opening the scoring in the 31st minute.
Mold came storming back early in the second half, goals from Emmanuel Lawal and Craig Rogers, both via free kicks, putting the visitors ahead.
It looked like Alex would take all the points until Forbes’ late lifesaver.
Goals from Danny Holland and Max Moore secured maximum points for Asa Hamilton’s men at Bastion Gardens.
Holland broke the deadlock from the penalty spot on 39 minutes.
In the 68th minute Adam Boydell burst forward and slipped the ball throgh for Moore to double the advantage.
