Guess who’s back in football management?

One of North East Wales football’s best known figures of the current millennium is back in management.

Simon Sedgwick has been appointed manager of tier 4 North East Wales Football League club Rhostyllen.

Sedgwick, 59, has taken a back seat from management since leaving Brickfield Rangers at the end of 2017/18.

Prior to that, Sedge was best known for his many successful seasons in charge of Buckley Town, but he also had spells at Holywell Town, Mynydd Isa, Rhyl Reserves, Caernarfon Town and Penycae.

As a manager, he has won the former Welsh National League Premier Division and League Cup, plus the NEWFA Challenge Cup on five occasions.

Joining Sedgwick on Rhostyllen’s management set-up will be:

Assistant Manager – 𝗞𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘀

Kev rejoins the club as assistant player-manager and is looking forward to working alongside Sedge and the coaches (and maybe bagging a goal or two!)

First Team Coach – 𝗜𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀

Ian has longstanding ties with the club as a former assistant-manager and has been around the club for a long time. He knows the team inside out and is looking forward to working alongside the new management team.

First Team Coach – 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀

Marcus will take up the role of coach whilst also managing the talented U19s team. He’s looking forward to continuing to develop a pathway for the 19s into the first team and working alongside the new management team.
