Finally! After six straight defeats Chirk picked up a first league win of the season and lifted themselves off the bottom of Ardal North East.
The Colliers gained their first points with a battling performance against Llanidloes at Holyhead Road last Sunday.
Lorne Scane stunned the home side on 22 minutes when he met a corner at the near post and headed into the net to put the away side ahead.
Unfortunately for the home side keeper Nikki Williams discolated fingers in the incident and had to leave the field of play.
Substitute Charlie Parkinson donned the gloves and took over in goal.
Minutes later Chirk were level when Niall Freeman fired home from close range after good work from Cameron Roberts and Harry Jones
All square at the break and the introduction of substitutes Asa Riley and Jack Jones on the hour mark had an immediate impact with Chirk going ahead minutes later through a great strike from Harry Jones.
Chirk looked like holding on until in the 83rd minute a free kick from the half way line from Llanidloes keeper Aaron Warwick deceived the defence and bounced into the home net to bring it level again.
But it all came good for The Colliers in the closing minutes when substitute, former Gresford Athletic striker Tom Freeman, broke down the left and struck a fierce shot which Warwick could only parry back to Freeman and he converted the follow up to seal a very welcome victory.
Man of the match for Chirk was Cam Roberts with an impressive midfield display.
This Sunday, Chirk will aim to repeat the dose when they entertain Radnor Valley with a 2.30pm kick off.
